I'm SOO happy my body is back on track! You have no idea how sick I was. What did I miss? How have you been? If it had not been for the metabolic doctors & Dr. N, coming together... I don't know where I would be!

I went back to work last Monday. Had no problems. Little tired at the end of the day but nothing crazy. When I went from liquids to puréed I gained 2 lbs. it's normal. I've since lost. It's going to be up and down. I think Moristown Memorial might have a support group during the day.
I've "cheated" and ate scrambled eggs and I've had string cheese. No problems! I needed something different. Good luck tomorrow at the dr. Let me know how it goes!

I'd love to go to the meeting. But my job is forcing me to go back to work. The hard part is that I work nights. So I wouldn't be able to make the meetings (which I know I need badly). I have now gained 1 lb. & it freaked me out. However, on the up side, my blood pressure has stabilized very well! (116/73) it only bothers me to cook because of the initial smell of the raw meat (totally sick to my stomach) & then the smell of it cooked (I crave it; needing something to chew). It's a trying time, but it's my mental I have to get under control over the food. I have an appointment on the 13th since my job forced me back. So I'll let you know that outcome. I hope all is well with you & the family. (-^_^-)

It definitely helps to talk it ( or type ) it out with a buddy! Thank you for that!! This us such a physical and mental challenge. I'm going to call the Dr. And find out when the support group meets. I'll let you know. I've finally started losing again. Slowly, but going in the right direction.
I cook for my husband and son but it doesn't bother me. I enjoy cooking, so I think that helps. I have trouble when my 5 year old want Doritos and chips. I sneak a bite. I know a bite isn't going to make me gain, but it is a bad habit to get into.
Hang in there! We can get through this!! I'm not suppose to start stage 3 until I see the dr. On the 17th but I'm going to try scrambled eggs this weekend. I NEED a change! Lol

I just saw the messages to my previous response. Thanks for the kudos on the 18 Lbs, but I'm in the same boat as you! I'm not losing as fast. I think the 18 Lbs was water weight. As far as this "puree" stage... not working for me. It only makes me want to eat normal foods & get hungry every other hour. (Side note: Dr. N told me that it's not really gas pains. It's actually the air I take in when I eat/drink trying to escape the small pouch. Hence why they always tell us to sip sip sip). ALSO I can't stomach some of the puree. My eyes are bigger than my stomach. I don't like the same things that I loved before surgery (protein shake & sugar free swag I bought included)! I'm a mess! AND to top it ALL off... I still cook for everyone in the house! UGGGH I CAN'T WAIT TILL STAGE 4! But through all of this ranting, I do see the positives: 1. I'm still losing weight, just slowly. 2. I'm learning my new belly, so I'd rather make the unintentional mistakes now rather than later. 3. My fiancee gets on my case, even if he's not eating right LoL. 4. Talking it out with someone who understands you & can empathise with you helps to be strong. THANKS BUDDY (-^_^-)

Today has been like that. I eat and an hour or so later I feel hungry. Is it just in my head? Not sure? I think I feel hungry or at least I'm feeling something. The surgery was a breeze, I need to fix my head now. Lol. Happy new year! Enjoy those mashed potatoes !

OMG WEEK ONE: 18 LBS DOWN! AND I get to have thin mashed potatoes, yum. I'm still sore on my largest incision. Do you get hunger pangs? Mine is weird. Now that I'm on the next bariatric stage, I can tell when I'm full. But 30-45 minutes later, a hunger pang comes.

OMG everyone was laughing at me coming out of anesthesia! LoL I'm in some pain, but ok for the most part. I'm still trying to learn how to sip & not gulp. I was so dehydrated that as soon as I saw the water... BIG GULP. One of the worst things I could have done after surgery. I'm sticking to Jello & Crystal lite water. I have to crush my pills & drink them (yucky). I'm also on blood thinners due to my high starting BMI

Oh boy. When I had the endoscope, he told me the same thing about a hernia. I'll keep you posted for sure. (^-^)

I'm glad to hear you're doing well! Try Gas X strips. I hear they help along with the walking. I'm going to try to go to group sessions while I'm off. I couldn't go b4 because of my hours at work. I'll be on the other side with ya in about 60 hours.
