Hi! I just saw a post of yours from August where you mentioned that you seemed to be able to eat/drink more oz at a time than most people are reporting. I was sleeved 10 days ago and that's been true for me too! I'm worried I've already stretched my stomach or something! How has it been for you since August? Thanks so much!!

My surgeons name is Dr.Collen Kennedy. She is a wonderful surgeon and a kind person I honestly would have never gone thru with my decision if I hadn't found a surgeon I completely trusted.

well...I've stayed off the scale since last Tuesday (doc appt). Since my surgery date was on a Monday, I decided to make that my weigh in day. So...this morning, I got on and had lost 2 lbs since last Monday. I resisted saying "ONLY" 2 lbs because it IS 2 lbs and I should be proud of them, right? lol I'm obvioulsy going to be a slow loser. I just have to accept that, i guess. How are you doing now? still stalled out today or are things moving?

Oh I track every morsal that goes in my mouth. my average is between 650-700 calories a day, around 75-90 protein and 27-28 carbs. I am trying to get my wate in and everything that I put in my mouth is protein based. My NUT told me that I couldn't have been more on formula for the proper percentages of everything if I'd cheated and just written the info down! lol I eat between 1/4 - 1/2 cup at meals...depending on what it is and have high protein/low carb snacks in between. I just have to trust my body to respond properly....eventually! ) I mean, I have lost 47+ pounds since 5/21/13 wehn I started a high protein/low carb pre-op "pre-diet'. lol I wish you continued good luck with you weight loss.

My best friend had her surgery on the 13th also and is struggling with losing this last week. She even gained one pound yesterday. I ended up gaining 2 pouds overnight on Friday. I KNOW it was water and not fat, but still it was on the scale! lol I'm back down to within 2 pounds of my lowest now, thank God! I was beginning to worry.

I actually gained 12 pounds of water weight in the hospital and it took the first week to get it off, then I dropped another 11+ lbs the second week..... not so much since then. I guess adding food of any kind back into our systems is going to shock it some. My friend said that she's not down by a whole lot since surgery yet....we're both trying not to get discouraged. I wanted to be one of those who had a 20 pound loss the first month! lol didn't happen. oh well, the way we are eating and now working out, our bodies can't help but to respond positively eventually, right? I've been caffeine free for 15 years so that's not something I miss, thankfully.

how much have you lost since surgery?

Sure thing not a problem! I am fascinated by it all myself!!
Have a great weekend and take care!

I haven't tried the scrambled egg, but I did make some little bite size quiches and didn't have any problem. I'm going to try that this weekend when I have a chance to cook something in the morning (as opposed to racing to work). I met with my NUT this morning and she's confused as to why I would gain 2 pounds in 7 days!!! so am I. thinks it might be fluid since ALL of the numbers on my food log are perfect, but I do need a few more calorie and some more water each day. going with that and hoping it breaks this cycle! Good luck to you!!!!!!! when was your surgery?
  9. I hope everything went smoothly for you today. Saying prayers for a speedy recovery. Just wanted you to know I was thinking of you today!

How are you doing since your surgery? You sound positive and that's great! Our starting weights and hopeful ending weights are essentially the same!

Hair Hair Every Where!

by PipperMarrow on 12-09-2013 at 07:06 PM
So....Skinny and Bald!

Okay, not bald buy I'm starting to notice hair every where and I'm trying not to let it bug me, but it's getting noticeable. I know it will stop eventually and trust me guys, I have tried EVERYTHING and even started trying to preserve hair before surgery. Didn't work.

The only thing I haven't done yet is get it bobbed off! My hair guy wants to wait til it stops falling out and then see what we can do. Too bad we can't just lose hair from

Wonderland! 50 Down!

by PipperMarrow on 12-07-2013 at 05:49 PM
So........WONDERLAND! It caught me by surprise this morning because I only weight once a week and the last weigh in was 202. I figured I would hit wonderland later this month depending on how the holidays went. None of my clothes fit anymore I barely have anything in my closet that fits. My Christmas list is CLOTHES for the first time!

I work a lot and have lots of family things going on so I don't work out much, but I can tell you it does make a difference as I lost more weight

45 Down and Some More to Go

by PipperMarrow on 11-30-2013 at 05:10 PM
So it's been 3.5 months now and I have lost 45 pounds. I have never lost this much weight this quick. Normally it would have taken me at least 8 months to lose 45 pounds. I know many lost a lot more much faster but I have thyroid issues and was told I would probably lose slower up front.

I could have done more to lose more like worked out consistently and skipped the glass of wine, but I didn't so that is my goal for this month. To work out more and skip the glass of wine.

November Goal

by PipperMarrow on 11-02-2013 at 08:28 PM
So far I haven't really set goals except to do the best I can each day, which didn't always work out. Halloween was a nightmare! Talk about being surrounded by slider foods!

Well, my birthday and Halloween are over and now I'm going full steam a head. My goal for November:

Get 75 grams of Protein Every Day
Stay within 25 grams of carbs Six Days a Week
Drink 64 oz of water a day
No alcohol this month not even wine with Thanksgiving Dinner

2.5 Months Out

by PipperMarrow on 10-27-2013 at 01:05 PM
Wow, time flies! It seems like I was just looking into surgery and now I've been sleeved for about 2.5 months. I just hit the 40 pound mark last week which I'm happy about! Did I think it would be more, yes I won't lie! But, I'm happy with the results I have so far. Did I think it would be faster and easier, yes but it's a tool and you have to change your lifestyle.

78% of the time, I'm on track with all the protein, water, exercise, etc. I'm proud of that because we all know
