Ok I have a question. I had surgery 5/9/16. I was 224 now 191. I have done so good. My only worry is I get sick after eating about 95% of the time. I have to either make myself throw up to feel better or it comes up. It makes my stomach hurt so bad. Please give me some advice on what I should be eating.

Hi Aldugan, thank you for the packing list but I have a question for you. I hope this is not a stupid question but Is the heating pad for the stomach or where ever you feel the gas pains? Thank you

What a huge difference, this 5th week from 3-4. I was feeling a little discouraged (but I'm too strong willed to admit it to people) that everyone else was seemly able to eat bites of real food and I literally could not get even a half bite of real food very chewed without pain later. But this week is totally different; I can eat mostly anything that I've tried if only a 1/2 inch size bite. Which that's all I wanted, to get off the liquid/mush! I had the surgery for the restriction, I didn't want to not be able to eat texture so that has been a relief! Grilled chicken for the 4th and cooked veggies; oh I missed it! I got some centrum gummie vitamins and some calcium vitamins; I just can't crush and drink pills, so gross. Helps with the energy.
I don't want to jinx myself, but I would be ok if I didn't lose anymore than 5 more pounds. (although 30 more would be nice, I "have" been 30 lbs less and don't look sick). I can't believe how much better you feel with just 30 lbs off. You are changing so much as well, you are looking beautiful. Are you feeling better each day?
  7. Wow you look great!
    I feel better every day.
Today is my first full day home.
At first I was really walking slow and had a lot of lower back stiffness.
Then I remembered we had pain pills dispensed for home use, so I took one and feel much better and getting around great.
I have never had surgery before but have preached to patients for years about how every day gets a little better,
Well, now I know it is really true!
I do have the head hunger, but as soon as I eat a Popsicle or Jello or broth, I feel satisfied.
    Its crazy!
My stitches looks great and no drainage and finally had a BM, so now I am totally relieved.
    How are you doing?
Can't wait until I can eat REGULAR food, and be satisfied with A FEW BITES.
    It truly is a miracle.
  8. Happy 4th to all my fellow sleevers!!!!!!
  9. I feel almost guilty that I've done so well. I keep reading the horror stories of others including friends I made in Mexico. How are you doing?
  10. I highly advise that everyone that has gastric surgery done follow up with their PCP to make sure everything is okay; especially ones who have it in another country. It's always better to be safe than sorry.

Remember….surgeons aren't GOD and no one is perfect!

Pretty good. Better since increasing protein. Gas pain at night in left shoulder. I was feeling so weak, haven't been walking. Will walk today. How are you doing now?

I am doing very well. I get tired quickly and I find it hard to get down 64oz of liquid my doc asks me too. I still fun it amazing that fact I can only eat so little. I'm not hungry at all and have to remind myself to eat something even though it's not anything much. I'll be starting stage 4 of my diet plan which opens up more variety of foods. Just can't wait to see the weight drop.
  14. Stitches are out….YEEPIEE
  15. SoReady4Change, sorry to inform you but you will be on a liquid diet for 2 weeks after surgery.

Found a Leak - Really Sick

by aldugan on 07-28-2015 at 11:33 AM
I know that it's been a while since I've blogged, but I haven't been feeling the best and have now been in the hospital for a week with a leak. They are thinking I've had the leak the whole time and infection set in and that is why I became so sick last week.

If anyone is having pains when they eat and have trouble keeping food down please go get checked out. I was dehydrated and my potassium was dangerously low!

I was really weak, no energy, and it got to a point

Ghrelin Gland vs. PMS

by aldugan on 07-07-2015 at 05:25 PM
Beginning to wonder if the Ghrelin gland was removed. This might be a little TMI, but this is my PMS week and before surgery all I did was eat and then when my period came I didn't want anything to eat…I feel the same way. I was expecting to not feel this way since 85% of my stomach was removed a little over a month ago. I have even craved sugar, which is what I did before…especially chocolate.

This really scares me because I know of a person that works with my mom and she had the

Concerned…NEED FEEDBACK

by aldugan on 06-29-2015 at 07:31 PM
Okay, so I posted in the forum about nibbling all day and someone posted back that what I was doing was very bad. Now I am really concerned!

In the mornings I get up and eat either cereal with skim milk or grits. After I have finished my breakfast is when I fix my protein drink (takes me all day to drink,so I sip on it all day, but if I drink my protein I don't get my water in). Then, for lunch I eat either grilled chicken, vegetables, gumbo juice, mac-n-cheese bowl, etc. and the

Protein App

by aldugan on 06-28-2015 at 02:21 PM
I know I haven't been on in a few days, but I haven't really had anything worth posting. I've been doing good; went to PCP Wednesday and had blood drawn, haven't heard back, so I guess all is good (no news is good news). Will go back next month for another follow up.

I downloaded an app to track what I'm eating. The app only tracks my calories and not my protein….looking for an app to track my protein. Noticing that I'm getting less than 600 calories a day in. I don't always drink
