The jitters are no fun, but I am so glad this is behind me -- as you will be soon. Now, my pain is so minimal, my energy is up, and I am really looking forward to pureed food. In fact, I am tempted to "cheat" in that direction. Probably not the best idea, though. I see my surgeon today for my first post-op visit, and from my end, I expect all to be well. I cannot believe I've already lost over 20 pounds, most of it post-op! I lost just under 10 on the pre-op diet (not my favorite, but keep on keeping on!)
Lots of people have advice for post-op comfort. For me, nausea was #1 issue & pain #1.1. It all passes before you know it. Breathing helped me -- slow in & slow out. Once the full liquid phase started, I found gatorade, kefir & milk powder my best tools. I have all this $$$ protein powders, but powdered milk is the most agreeable with me. Water made me nauseous, and gatorade rescued me. Had a bit of the runs, vanilla kefir fixed that.

I am sure you will find what works for you, I'm just sharing what worked for me. I got the gatorade suggestion from my new friend from support group -- we text all the time. He's a month ahead of me and has been a life saver.
This is a big decision that you have made, big changes are ahead. Be brave, this is one exciting adventure for a whole new you!

I must admit, I have the jitters. I find myself looking at the calendar everyday! I have 11 days until surgery. Right now, I'm on the 2 week pre-op liquid diet. The first few days have been a struggle for me, but day 4, I don't feel too bad. So this is day 3 post-op for you. Feeling stronger?

Thank you for asking - still a bit groggy, initial pain out of surgery a bit tough, but it has been since managed well. Easily best decision of my adult life -- remind me of this and when you catch me crying.
