We had the same Doctor. How are you doing so far. I just started my jorney.
  3. If you go on amazon you can order unflavored protien isolate and add it to soups and broth. I tired very quickly of the protein shakes. So my husband bought miso and tofu and I added tons of tofu to the miso and blended everything really well. I found that miso is what turned it around for me. It really made me feel much better and the flavor is so good.
I really hope this helps. And yes, Valentines Day is the day we took back control of our lives! It was the best one yet! :-)

    Hello
I lost 23 lbs on the pre surgery diet, thats what happens when it is just liquid for 2 weeks. I sure am getting tired of the protein drinks. I only have about a week and a half until I can have pureed food so I am looking forward to that. But this is going to be a long journey for me, I have about 200 lbs to lose so I am just taking it one day at a time. At least now we won't have to associate valentines day with chocolates anymore, from now on it will be the day I changed my life.
    have a good day.

  5. Hang in there...things will get better!!!
  6. Chrispy that is so cool!! I wish I could say that I am doing good, but unfortunately my hernia repair is really messing things up for me. I can drink my protein and chew on ice but I can't drink water or Gatorade. This has really left me weak and just feelin like general dooky.
I certainly hope that you are fairing much better. Please let me know how you are doing.

Sleeve to RNY

by MIVanderwood on 08-03-2016 at 11:19 PM
This one goes out to anyone out there that has had to be converted from sleeve to RNY. I was just told by my doctor, after four years being sleeved, that I need to be converted to RNY. It has taken me four years to finally except that this HAS to be done, now I just have to get the insurance company to get on board. My question is two fold: Has anyone else had to have the conversion due to uncontrollable acid reflux and how did it go having the conversion, and How hard did they have to fight

Hitting that reset switch!

by MIVanderwood on 10-30-2013 at 04:37 AM
It has been a very long time since I posted and was well on track and using My. Fitness Pal to stay on track. I had hormone therapy adjustments made and took a trip across country by car and was then hospitalized for DVT. I gained quite a bit of weight in the hospital. It was about 15 pounds and lost most of it but I am trying to get back on the wagon again. So here I am trying to figure out just how to hit the reset switch.

I am taking baby steps towards it and will see how it

What's going on? Gallbladder or Appendix

by MIVanderwood on 06-19-2012 at 06:59 PM
So I seem to be doing better with the weight loss now. I was stuck for quite a while and my doc told me that it was due to allergies, so now I get allergy shots every week and the weight loss has started back up again. This is great to have happening again, but now something else seems to be going on. I have severe pain on my right side, diarrhea, and nausea. The only thing keeping me from throwing up is my phobia of it. ( I've been close a couple of times since the surgery but luckily it either

The Melting Pot

by MIVanderwood on 04-21-2012 at 06:42 PM
Well tonight we are taking my step-daughter to her favorite restaurant for her eighteenth birthday. I am a little nervous, because The Melting Pot is a little difficult to handle on the best of circumstances. I had a hard time being able to make it through the meal before the surgery because it was so much food. Now that I have such a small stomach I am scared about how I will pace myself so that I am not just sitting there making people feel awkward as I stare at the wall.
So I think
