Heya - congratulations on your progress so far. I love the quote at the end of your signature - it's *exactly* what we're all doing. How's things?

Thank you Im doing great. I wish i would have done this a lot sooner.. I have been loseing a lot of wieght so far....
  6. My bile issues: The first time this happend was in late March/Early April of this year. I had 1 shot (small) of Baileys Irish Creme, and thought I was going to die. It happend within 5 minutes of drinking. But other than this time, I cannot pinpoint anything else that causes it. Sometimes, I dont eat until 2pm (I wake between 6-7am) and it just goes off randomly. Sometimes after food, sometimes not. Its not consistant at all. I do however think you are onto something here with the pain meds. They use to make me cramp before the surgery very mildy. I always take with lots of water, and after food. Oddly, my back pain has seriously increased since the weight loss (loss of padding on my butt, and padding between my spine? Who knows). Thank you for taking the time to reach out and bring this to my attention- Ill follow up

Hello, I'm doing pretty good, Thanks for checking up on me. My only issue is drinking enough water. I had almost a 2 week stall but I increased my fluids a lil and the weight started dropping again. Hope all is well your way!
  9. New measurements (30 days) Neck, the same. waist is down 1.5", Left upper arm is down 0.25 inches, Left lower arm is down 0.5 inches, Left upper leg is down 2", Left just above the knee is down 0.75 inches, calf and ankle are the same. My upper stomach "roll" also lost 2 inches. Very satisfied....

All is well. I am somewhat in a "remission" of sorts. My levels are right under the borderline now. It happened before the surgery though - and not sure why. My cousin was diagnosed with it too and now we're starting to think that there might be some genetic associations although the physicians swear there isn't. It's just such a rare disease. All is well - no real headaches in a while. I had the surgery on 4/2 and am doing okay. Two headaches since the surgery and a little eye pressure. I am hoping that by losing this weight, it will help a BUNCH!!!!

I am still here...

by WaywardSmiles on 05-06-2014 at 09:19 PM
Hello to all my friends, old and new. I apologize for being away for 3 months. I have had several medical issues "pop" up over the past few months that have affected my mental and emotional health as well (I became a bit depressed.) As some may know, I have IIH (Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension, or Pseudotumor Cerebri). Basically,I have all the symptoms of a brain tumor, minus the tumor! This is why I had the surgery...the doctors felt if I lost weight quickly, the condition would

the "trick" to make the sleeve work for you

by WaywardSmiles on 12-27-2013 at 07:05 PM
Not really a trick, but the best way. First and foremost is to understand why you are overweight. Too much food? Poor quality of food? Lack of exercise? Disease related?

Figure out what your "triggers" are (emotional/situational): stress, loneliness, boredom, get-togethers, depression, happiness, work, etc. If you have no idea, then start a food journal! Time you eat, what you are feeling, are you actually hungry, what you feel after you eat. Look at it after a week

8 months and 12 days

by WaywardSmiles on 12-20-2013 at 08:47 PM
Wow...the time flies! I am officially down 100 pounds. I am happy, yet fearful that I will get too thin. I have always been a "curvy" girl and loved it. I was very comfortable with my size and figure. The smaller I get, the more self conscious I become! I know this is the opposite of what most would say, but I grew up with other things being more important (like intelligence, sense of humor, integrity, etc.)

I still follow my guideline binder (a 2 inch thick "book"

triumphant goal

by WaywardSmiles on 10-02-2013 at 09:36 AM
I used to workout regularly (more like obsessively) and could ride my bike easily for 25 miles in just an hour. I could run up 5 flights of stairs without skipping a beat. Then I got sick...(blah, blah, blah)

For the last 6 weeks I have been going to PT for my neck to avoid surgery. It is on the 4th floor, and I have been walking up the flights twice a week since the second week of therapy.

Yesterday, I decided to "run" up to the second floor then walk the

5 months post op-results are in!

by WaywardSmiles on 09-09-2013 at 07:58 AM
Hello to everyone. Yesterday was my 5 months post op surgiversary. Although I have had setbacks (unrelated to the sleeve), I have done quite well and am actually amazed at my success.

I had another set back about a month ago and was put on Prednisone again. I still lost 10 pounds being on it. And I did feel hunger quite a bit more (every couple of days versus 9 days.)

I have posted a new album with front and side view pics.
Since the night before my surgery
