    Hi Seth. How are you going? We are nearly 18 months out. Where did the time go?
  3. Hey Seth! Doing great. Been busy working like crazy and putting in serious miles on the bike in preparation for the big ride at the end of this month. With the heat that we've had up here, when I get home, I'm pretty wore out. Many projects coming up. I've been answering a lot of private messages but haven't posted at all. Hope things are well. Thanks for checking on me!

    Seth, thank you so much for your kind words. You are so right in discussing my surgeon's team. They are such a great group of people from the secretary to the coordinators to the insurance people, NUT, everyone knows the patients and their progress and really wants us to do well.
  6. Hi Seth, just stopping by to say hi. How are you getting your proteins in while your away at work? I know work can really be stressful, and getting protein in can be tough as heck. What about water and calories too?

    I went off Unjury in December, and tried to do "diet" protein intake. HA. I failed, and have gained 13 pounds. GAINED weight. I went from 247 to 260 grrrr. I got on the bike, and noticed my thighs are getting smaller, but the weight gain has really taken a toll on me mentally. I still stuggle with my back issue, I am one surgery away from the final fix, I think once that's knocked out, my numbers will drop. TJ

    Thanks so much for your reply. I've been on the pre liquid diet for 6 days. There have been some challenging times but over all it hasn't been terrible. Of course I have another 8 days of it. So I have a question for you - slider foods. I'd never in the months I've been on this site ever heard of them but yesterday they came up. Do you know about this???

    Ahoy......or do is there another greeting to send when your out in the water? Anyway - I have been a fan of your thoughts and words since I started on this site some months ago. I just had to tell you I got my date!!! February the 10th!!! SO with that said I thank you and continue to thank you for all the advice, wisdom and everything else that you have to share with all of us. If you were ever wondering does anyone read what you write or take it to heart - I do and have. You've helped me over some slippery slopes of self doubt and now I know I am beyond ready for this. Thank you for all you do and for the good, kind person you are
  12. You're very welcome Seth! Take care and hang in there
  13. Just looked thru your about me section and wanted to point out you are down 101lbs from your highest weight don't lose sight of that. Who care the time frame! The fact is you've lost somewhere along the lines of a 4'11" "normal BMI" human being!!

    I wanted to thank you for your reply. I'm hoping the pain will ease up. Wishing you the best and congratulations on such success!
  15. Yes, the stall is normal from what my surgeon told me in july, but he also said that i'll continue to lose as I pick up my exercise. I'm up to 2 miles walking a day on most days which is great for me, and I don't really eat any carbs, except for Combos Pretzels!!! I love those things lol. But I eat a lot of meat daily and its weird I go to bed heavier and wake up a pound or two lighter lol Hang in there!!

2015 around the bend

by SethP on 12-29-2014 at 04:30 AM
Just sitting here tonight thinking about the new year that we are all facing. I always find it a time to look back on things accomplished and things left undone. We have just finished celebrating Christmas and now we are getting prepped for New Years Resolutions. I think that 2015 for me will be another year of changes. I think it is time to get up off the couch more and finally join a gym. We have talked about it many times but that is all it has been is talk.

This year it

Medical Update

by SethP on 11-12-2014 at 02:35 PM
So yesterday I went for my bi-annual visit with the Endocrinologist for Type 2 Diabetes. I have been seeing him for about 5 years now. For the 3rd visit I can happily report that my A1c is 6.6. He was very pleased that the diabetes has been held in check now for 18 months with the help of the sleeve. On another note, my Triglyceride level has dropped from 535 to 239 in the last 6 months. I can safely say that having this surgery has saved my life.

IF you are on the fence about

It goes both ways

by SethP on 11-04-2014 at 09:44 PM
I just felt like it was time to put out some insight from my perspective, it is my opinion and some might not find it popular but it is mines.

Discrimination has been mentioned many times on this site and many comment on how they are now thinner they are treated differently. I am a man and I will say that I am treated differently by men and women alike. Being judgemental of someone is not only a male attribute but a woman's as well. It is in human nature. It is a defense mechanism

by SethP on 10-31-2014 at 04:56 AM
Today starts the Holiday Season with Halloween, Thanksgiving and then Christmas. I want to start off by wishing everyone a Happy Holiday Season. During this time of the year we should all spend a little time to relfect inwardly. Many of us have new lifes that we could have never achieved without the help of our sleeves. Some of you I have been following for 18 months now and some of you I have recently made the aquaintence of. It doesnt matter where you are in this journey, we all have things

Wisdom

by SethP on 10-20-2013 at 01:00 AM
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

This last few days have been tough. There has been a lot of drama going on around the forum and I am not crazy about it. It appears that some people feel the need to lash out when somone posts their personal opinion. We all have opinions on things and that doesnt mean that we are right or wrong but it is our opinion. Our
