Well, my surgery didn't go quite as planned. Long story short, I was getting weaker and more short of breath and couldn't figure out why. I had bleeding in my abdominal cavity and required a couple of transfusions. Yuck. That prolonged my hospital stay by a couple days. Now I feel off-track. I'm one week post-op and still only able to get in about 30 grams of protein a day. I can't seem to do even 4 ounces of fluids in an hour... I need help! Any tips? I also can't distinguish between the

My surgery was supposed to be last month, the surgeon quit, I frantically searched for a new one and met all his requirements... now I'm on day 5 of the pre-op diet. Surgery is Tuesday the 19th! I'm excited about the new surgeon, excited that I'm finally this close!

Left me hanging. So, after a few days of feeling sorry for myself, I picked up the pieces and went in search of a new surgeon. I found one who was willing to work with someone else's pre-op tests, and now I'm on the books again for the 19th. Hopefully this one will go through, but I have to say that after that

I know all the different surgeons require different things, but mine wants me to use Carnation Good Start. I've got to do this for 2 weeks. I bought enough to last for 2 weeks, but have now found that I despise the chocolate flavor. Does anyone have tips to make this more palatable? I can use whatever kind of protein drinks I want after the surgery, but I need to make it through this first 2 weeks...
Thanks for any help!
