Hey there! Yea I was busy with work and school the past few weeks, that I haven't dedicated a lot of time to the forum as I should. You know how life gets. I'm doing well though. Losing slower than others, but still losing. How are you doing? I know you were having a rough time at first, I hope that you are doing a lot better now! Let me know how it's going

Hi there. I haven't done anything really herculean with my weight loss. I started at a higher weight so I lose more faster. Protein, protein, protein. I have a protein shake at breakfast (25g), lean meat and lowfat cheese for lunch and chicken or shrimp for dinner. Lucky for me I don't mind doing the same thing over and over. I supplement all that with lowfat string cheese and lowfat cottage cheese.

The other thing I do (which some here don't agree with) is that I give my body what it wants/needs which means if I need to eat some carbs, I do. I have a certain amount of carbs every day - like the 5 crackers I eat my lunch with or the peanut butter in my shake. It also means that if I want combos I eat them. Not to excess, but this is a change for life, and I know better than to deprive myself for life. For me, that would just be silly.

Understand that you're in the very beginning stages and you can't compare yourself with anyone else. Find what works for you and do that. We can always talk any time.
  3. You are absolutely not taking in enough protein. You will send your body into starvation mode. Protein for me: I add half a liquid protein shot to my water for my trip to the gym. So I get 21 grams in to start my day. For breakfast, I load up my Magic Bullet with egg whites, baked chicken or grilled steak and liquify it, put it in the pan and scramble it up. It doesn't bother me because the meat flavor and protein are in there but there are no chunks and no bits of me to eat. Some days, I make a shake (pre-bottled only when in a rush). I use two scoops of Isopure protein powder, usually banana creme or strawberries and cream, I add half a banana or a few strawberries, half cup of skim milk, Torani sugar free syrup, few ice cubes and let her rip! Very tasty and two scoop of powder is 55g of protein. I'll add in a greek yogurt blends some time during the day, and maybe half cup of Hot and Sour soup or mashed tuna, light mayo and onions.

If you're nauseous all the time, you probably need to take a PPI like Prilosec or Prevacid for a few weeks to kill the acid in your stomach which can definitely cause nausea and other stricture. My doc put me on Prilosec and Gaviscon 2x a day, it made a world of difference. Took away all the gumbling, nausea and acid in my stomach and then I could eat in peace. Your water is very important too, you don't want to get dehydrated.

    Hope this helped.

I am sorry to hear that you are going through that. I really hope it gets better for you. Even if the crackers slow down your weight loss, at least you are getting something in your stomach and if that's what helps you, I'd def stick to it. Yea, I was finally able to get in touch with my doctor and he gave me zofran to help. I have thrown up once since, and I'm still nauseous when I wake up in the morning, but it's better.
  5. I am doing okay I guess...don't know what to compare it to. I am still having a hard time swallowing any type of meat pureed or not. I have had so much nausea lately that I have been eating saltine crackers. I know that it will slow down my weight loss, but I am not sure what else to do. Were you able to get in touch with your doctor?

Hey, just wanted to check in and see how you were doing. Hope all is well
  7. I have been feeling pretty good. Yesterday was the first time that I had to take a pain pill since being taken off the pump, but I was out shopping all day. So far no nausea, vomiting, etc but since last Wednesday I have only had 4 bottles of water, 1protein shake, and 2cups of broth.

Hey congrats on the surgery. I'm having the same issues to be honest. My Dr says I'm supposed to get at least 64 oz of water and 60 grams of protein but I'm getting about 30 oz of water and maybe 40 grams of protein. Tonight I'm getting much less as I started to run fever and couldn't keep my protein down. How are you feeling?
