Hanging in there doing better very day. Nausea overwhelmed me in the hospital and I had to stay two nights. I was thinking I would have to stay 3 but they did release me.

Wow! I can't believe you were only in 1 night. I hope I'm that lucky. You sound like you are doing so well 4 wks out. I think 22 lbs in 4 wks is totally amazing! We'd probably be better off just getting on the scales every other week or once a month but I know in the past I'm getting on several times a week... Sounds like you are doing all the right things so I'm sure it's just that the bathroom scales are in a bad mood! lol!!!

My dietian told me today as we went through the whole plan and goals for me that something like metamucil can be used at 1/2 doses or less to start with, if I had problems with constipation. Has your Dr. recommended anything like that or does it not really work??? I'm so glad to hear that you aren't having problems with heartburn and digestion. I never had any issues with the lapband with that kind of stuff but I've been a little more concerned with this because of any scaring from the band or this sleeve just being so narrow... Thanks for all your wisdom & advice! :-)

Thanks for the good wishes. I went in this morning for my pre-op & bloodwork. All went well so 7:30 a.m. Monday is my surgery. I'm getting anxious & nervous. I have a lot I would like to get done before Monday. I have company for a week over Thanksgiving and I'm hoping I'll be feeling great by then...

How many days were you in the hospital? They are planning on 4 days since I'm a revisit. :-( At this pace though, I'll probably look forward to the extra rest though. lol! Stay well and hope things are going well for you.

I am so happy that things turned out well. I have been praying that things went smoothly for you.
  10. One day post op. and knock on wood..it went perfect. I got home from the hospital a few hours ago feeling pretty darm good. I thought the lap band surgery was way more difficult. Yes, I have the pain/heartburn that I beleive every experiences, but other than that.. I'm pleased. Just so you know, I too was freaking out about the surgery. I had nightmares & even postponed it once! The surgery took less than 2 hours total. I went in slighty before 10:00 am and woke up at 12:30 p,m. in my hosptial bed, not recovery. I also do not have a drain, as my Dr., said he only used them on patients if the have excess bleeding, more advanced medical problems, etc. He also dioes the leak test while you're still under or in the OR. What he does is h spaples and stiches..and then he does an endoscope down the throat to the stomach and looks from the inside for leaks. Then he adds air and subemerges the stomach in water to look for bubbles! It's really amazing how they can do all this. The hosptal was great too (Marina Del Rey). A few hours after surgeru, they had me up and walking, every 2 hours throughout the entire night ~ I felt better after each walk. I would walk, take some ice chips, and then go back and sleep! I am taking the pain medicine about every 6 hours. I wanted to share my experience as it might help some of you, especially if your nervous ...as surgery is always scary! Truthfully, this was way easier than the lap band!
