Congrats on your progress. How are you coming along. At 2.5 years out, I'm finding the hardest part is maintaining but I continue to work hard. I can now eat more at least a small saucer of food. I have to strive to make good choices. I've worked too hard to get to this point. Just sending you words of encouragement. I tell myself that eating the junk food does not make me nearly as happy as being healthy feels.

Good luck on your journey im sure you have worked real hard too. Best of luck on your success

Congratulations I see you have had the surgery. I bet you feel like a million bucks

Yup, I haven't become gym crazy and I don't read the amount of protein in everything I just eat healthy.

Hey, I actually only exercised properly for about a week so no I didn't exercise like crazy

Thank you - surgery went well and I am home recovering which is going smoothly
  6. I'm with you on the puree food. I'm tired of it and it's time to move on. I tried some french fries today. I'm not sure what you call them in Australia but I chewed them really well and had no problem. I obviously can't eat many of them but it was good to try something solid for once.

I am going to be visiting Tasmania. I went there in 1988 when I was in the Marine Corps and I really enjoyed myself, even though we were only there for a few days. I will be riding my bike on a 9-day tour and I think it will be a blast. It's rather expensive to fly to your part of the world but I really feel that this surgery is such a milestone in my life, that I should celebrate by doing something unique. I could always go to the most popular places that people go but I wanted to go to a place where I can kind of get away and do things that I enjoy, but be in a safe country. So I chose Tasmania.

I realize that it's kind of weird to fly all that way to ride a bike but it's always been a dream of mine to go back and have a proper tour of the island so that's what I'm going to do! I've got nothing better to do anyway!

I've found a group to ride with at bicycle tours in Tasmania - Green Island Tours Tasmania. I have plenty of time to plan and I think it will be fun.
  7. Oh, I'm fine. Keeping up my routine as best as I can. It's really hard to get into the routine on some days because there are times when I'd rather just sit at home and do nothing, but I know that I need to keep active. So far, so good. I wish I was losing faster but I'll take what I can get. I'm still trying different foods since I'm limited still with what I can have. I was told I can start introducing a firmer variety of food next week so I'll try that and see how it goes.

The weather has finally warmed up here! So your heat is gone and hopefully is coming my way!

Is it warm there in Feb/March? I will be visiting next year and I hope I'm arriving at the right time!
