Hi there. I am considering surgery inder Dr Hruby, just wondered how you are getting on now and if you would mind helping me with some questions please? Like how to arrange sick leave from work / get a sick note from gp when having surgery's abroad. Do you know if anybody has gone and ended up having to have a bypass instead of a sleeve, or been turned away altogether? Any tips or anything you can offer? Thank you, melanie x

  4. Thank you, I'm going for endoscopy soon, not looking forward to it but, its only 15 minutes.
the hospital here is fantastic, nurses are excellent, so hard working and nothing is a problem. So far everything is great. Thanks again, Gillian

Thanks for your message on my profile page. Good luck with your surgery, and keep in touch afterward. I have met up with a few different people who have either had or planning surgery, so depending on where you are we could meet up for a hello some time. There's not so many ppl having surgery in the UK, so its nice to make contact with others.

Gillian thanks for your kind post. I've come to welcome the opportunity this forum provides in allowing me to open up. I hope everything goes well for you also - wherever you are in your journey. We all deserve the best.

I understand completely that feeling of being an outsider, a freak. I'm at the place where I ready to reduce the most extremes of that feeling. We all feel out of step from time to time - regardless of fat or skinny - and that's the type of normal I'm looking to be.

I went to my profile, then ticker, entered my new pre op weight.
