Tall people have somewhat different life perspectives. Our weight can be masked by our heights, but it doesn't mean that it's any better. A 6 ft 200 pound person will look different than a 5 ft 200 pound person and wear different sizes.

2015 Kicking off our Sleeve journey, time to make the change!
This Group is for those who are just starting the process with their physicians. Let's see each through and cheer each of us on as we go through the process. Since we are starting, let's support one another from all the pre classes we have to take, exams, evals, and pre weight loss, celebrate when we get our surgery date, check in after our surgeries, and CHEER us all on has the weight comes off and our lives are free from the weight that has kept us from living a full life. This is our year, 2015 will be the year we take on our weight become healthy and living and moving.

There is some evidence that African Americans don't respond as well as Caucasians, and men don't respond as well as women. I just wanted to see how African American's are responding to this type of surgery. No disrespect to non-African Americans, I love everyone the same. I just needed a cultural perspective.

DO'S AND DON'T BEFORE AND AFTER SURGERY !!
I am an RN have worked as Pre- Op Bariatric Nurse, Bariatric Surgery Nurse, Post-Op Bariatric Nurse, Bariatric Floor, ICU, and E.R. Nurse. I am also a post Lap Band Bariatric patient. I will also be a Sleeve and Gallbladder patient on April 5th. I get many questions every day from all the people new to this forum and many don't even have instruction sheets from their surgeons, dietitians, etc...so from now on when I answer, I plan to do it here so people can get the answers they desperately are looking for.
