We see a lot of groups on here for geographical reasons, health insurance commonalities, and same month surgeries, but I wanted to start a group for everyone on here to be able to get help in support after their surgery. I think that it is very important for everyone to be able to have someone to guide them through this process and this website is the perfect platform. Please join this group and share your insight both good and bad for everyone to see so that it may help them get through their journey just a little bit easier

African-American Sleevers
There is some evidence that African Americans don't respond as well as Caucasians, and men don't respond as well as women. I just wanted to see how African American's are responding to this type of surgery. No disrespect to non-African Americans, I love everyone the same. I just needed a cultural perspective.

DO'S AND DON'T BEFORE AND AFTER SURGERY !!
I am an RN have worked as Pre- Op Bariatric Nurse, Bariatric Surgery Nurse, Post-Op Bariatric Nurse, Bariatric Floor, ICU, and E.R. Nurse. I am also a post Lap Band Bariatric patient. I will also be a Sleeve and Gallbladder patient on April 5th. I get many questions every day from all the people new to this forum and many don't even have instruction sheets from their surgeons, dietitians, etc...so from now on when I answer, I plan to do it here so people can get the answers they desperately are looking for.
