My surgery is in 18 days and I am starting to get very nervous, not about making it through surgery or the pain afterwards, but about whether or not I'm making the right decision. I read a lot and people always say it was the best decision they ever made. I know I haven't been able to keep the weight of with other methods, but I'm just scared because its not reversible and it is a life long change. I guess I just need reassurance that this is a good thing.

ksleeve16 Its normal to feel that way, but you will be fine. My surgery isn't until June 13th and I am still waiting for an approval from my insurance. Look at how you feel now, if diets haven't worked by themselves they never will. If your not happy now it can only get better. I haven't read anything from anyone stating they didn't lose a pound from the sleeve, have you? I am going to be 47 and every morning I feel like am 87. Its a good thing and you will be fine.

Thank you two for the encouragement, and I know you both are right and I shouldn't stress over it. I hope you get your approval letter soon and all goes as planned.

Hi Ladies, Im new to group, having a sleeve surgery next January. Scared silly but commited to change and for my life to turn around. Better late than never right? So surgeon is good to go, anesthetist not so keen. She has sent me for cardiac tests. So far myocardial perfusion tests complete, next week heart ultrasound and some other tests. I had the gastroscopy last week and all checked out good, however I have a Hiatus hernia which will be repaired same time as sleeve. So excited but terrified as well. How is everyone else?
