I had the surgery on the 23rd. Only complication was a hernia he repaired while he was in there. Because of reflux, and pain on swallowing liquids, I'm on clear liquids and protein only for two weeks. The hospital staff was amazing and attentive. I'm down to a single dose of pain meds a day.

Thanks to all of you who posted about the experience before I went in. It was really helpful - and I was grateful, but I couldn't post back.

As a side note, for future reference, I would not recommend starting to binge watch Grey's Anatomy before having a surgery.
