I am on the 5th day of the low carb pre op diet. I'm trying to stay low carb,80-100 GM. tripping up some, but making better carb choices.I am drinking 84-96 oz fluid daily. I've been a fast eater since nursing school and working in hospitals, where you only have 30 minutes to eat, and stand in the cafeteria line for 15 minutes. So , how do you chew, chew, chew and slow down?
It's important to try and chew slowly and sip drinks as you would be doing this for at least a few weeks post op. This is just to help your body adjust
Hey I am newly sleeved and a nurse also. I loathed the low carb diet but managed the 14 days with few slip ups. I think I missed the point, I don't understand what you mean by chew chew chew? After the sleeve, my surgeon adheres to 2 weeks liquid, then 2 weeks soft, then moving onto denser foods. So it will be quite a while before you have the chew a lot! Goodluck, hope everything goes smoothly post op
