Hi guys, yes it was the hotel ticuan. I was scheduled for surgery Friday & had prayed about about it and felt led to cancel surgery at the last minute, right before the van was going to pick me up at the airport Thursday nite! I got a text from melissa this morning telling me about the fire and that both floors patients were on was destroyed! So glad everyone made it out alive! So thankful I listened to God & didn't go! Weird that I can't find any info online about it either. Please lmk if anyone's able to find out more info.

I was talking to someone at weightlossagents.com the other day, and they tol me about the fire and that we would have to stay at a different Hotel, and they would let me know once they made a deal with the other Hotel. Mine Sleeve is January 19, I hope it's all good one way or another, and thank god no one was hurt, but it sounds like it was close for at least one...very scary...I hope she is doing well.

    Hi everyone,
I contacted weightloss agents as well and received e mail that everyone is fine, and all surgeries still continue with recovery at Hotel Palacio Azteca. Speculation is fire started on surgical floor ( speculation is someone smoking).
I am scheduled For January 16 and am not letting this dissuade me. God is in control

    Tijuana's Hotel Ticuan Catches Fire!

Fire Consumed the Fifth Floor of the Hotel Ticuan This Morning

The Firth Floor of Tijuana's Hotel Ticuan had a fire early this morning, started by a 30 year old American from, Laguna Niguel, and a 25 year old Mexicana who was staying with the American over night at the hotel. The couple, lit a aromatic candle, but fell asleep, and a pillow caught fire, and then the fire spread to the rest of the room, and the whole floor, because the couple also left the window and door open which helped spread the fire faster.

The hotel was evaluated of about 500 occupants, and the ones in the rooms were sent to other nearby hotels. The fifth floor suffered substantial damaged of high temperature, smoke and fire, however the upper floors, 6, and 7, only suffered smoke damaged. The couple were refereed to the public prosecutor.

    Rodrigo's comments:

The translation is from a couple of articles, including the "AFN" Tijuana, "Incendio-consume-quinto-piso-de-hotel-Ticuan. which is the longer article with more detail, but for some reason, I can't right click, and copy the "Frontera" article, but I linked it.

The Hotel Ticuan is a well known hotel, among the business class, and lovers, it's also well known among the "sex tourists, from "TJ Amigos" and other sex forums, and escort customers stay at the "Hotel Ticuan" too, and in fact, it's the number 1# choice among all the hotels in Tijuana, for guys/mongers with a little bit of money, because although it's a business hotel, it's also not too far away from Tijuana's Zona Norte," and escort customers, like their escorts delivered to the "Ticuan" if they're not staying in a love hotel. The love hotels, usually have four hour limits, so the "Ticuan" is preferred among the higher end sex tourists, and their lovers, that's if they want to spend the whole night in a hotel. The hotel management, is very cool, and doesn't bother guys bringing girls to the rooms.

It's a shame the Hotel Ticuan 5th floor had a fire, I would imagine the whole hotel will be closed for some time, and can only hope the hotel can be repaired of the fire and smoke damaged fairly quickly

    From the "AFN" Tijuana:
