Please do not wait until after your surgery to go out and buy protein powders, sugar free water flavorings/jello/pudding, cream of wheat/rice, oatmeal, broths, etc. Please be sure to buy this stuff beforehand. I read so many posts about what to eat, where to buy, how to mix/use. If you have gotten a diet plan/shopping list from the nutritionist/dietician-go get those things. There is a variety of protein powders that you can buy a sample pack or individual servings of.

We may be a little sore after surgery and not wanting to fuss with these issues. We may not have someone to get these things for us. Also, store where you will not need to bend over or stretch to retrieve what you want. We can freeze some "ice cubes" of broth. creamed (and strained) soups, and even protein shakes. Wrap in palstic or put on a Ziploc baggie after-quick and easy access when the urge hits.

Use this forum:read the posts about post-op problems with food/emotions/work. Ask questions of your surgeon, doctor, nutrtionist/dietician/nurses. Ask the sleevers here who have been through it! Isn't that why we came here? The only dumb questions are the ones that don't get asked!

Prepare yourself the best you can for your success.
