My surgery is 12/18.. just nervous about my primary care physician clearance..what usually happens on this appt.?
I did not have to have PCP clearance - I guess it varies with insurances. But if you have your surgery date, you should be good to go. Congratulations!
For me, It was just a routine appointment where your primary doctor looks over your file, noting that anything of issue, like HBP, OSA, diabetes, blood panel, etc looks controlled and clears you for surgery. It was easy and without issue. I will tell you, however, that my cardiologist told me that he's seen patients turned away on the day of surgery from the anesthesiologist. He said 'He's the one you really need to please.' I have HBP and he recommended current EKG and a stress test. These were sent to my primary and surgeon as well.
Oh wow so far so good tomorrow is pcp appt.
I had to jump through a million hoops for my insurance. Surgery date for 12/28! Wish mine was before Christmas!
Just got my surgery scheduled for 12/17/18!!! So excited.
