I posted this earlier in a blog and was asked by Joolah to copy here to the veggie lovers. I haven't tried it yet, but it does sound delicious! In a blender, food processor, or magic bullet, blend: -1/2 cup canned 100% pumpkin -1/2 banana... -1 cup milk or milk substitute -1 scoop Chike vanilla (whey protein powder) -a few dashes of pumpkin pie spice It packs in 18 grams of protein and 10 grams of fiber for an awesome holiday smoothie that will keep you on track with your goals! .
I made a pumpkin smoothie today too, mine was a bit different (higher calorie but filling so can split into two): -1/2 cup canned pumpkin -1/2 cup low-fat cottage cheese -1 serving of unflavored protein powder (I use Jarrow or Unjury, but any is good) -1/2 cup water or almond milk or skim milk (use more for thinner) -5-6 ice cubes -1 serving of sweetener of your choice (I use 1.5 TSP of Stevia blend) -1 TSP of Pumpkin Pie spice mix -1/2 TSP of cinnamon Blend. Assuming 13G of protein in cottage cheese, 20 in powder, a minimum of 33G and if you use skim milk then you are pushing 40+G and you can split it into two "meals". My friend and I had one after running a 10K today -- delish, plus lots of fiber in the pumpkin. SunnyGirl, I'm going to try yours!
Both of these look so yummy! I ADORE pumpkin. Thank you both.
I just made mine--gotta say tolerable, but a slight "yuck". I am going to try adding artificial sweetener.

I have some pumpkin at home I will have to try it in a smoothie.
