Hi everyone, I just joined today and I had my sleeve Monday, July 29, 2013. Prior to surgery I was swimming 2x per week and taking water aerobics 3x per week in addition to 2 hour physical therapy (ankle and knee) 2 - 3x per week. I'm anxious to get back in the pool and to pick up therapy so I can "graduate" and have more stable joints. I'm just curious to see how long it takes to get back to regular activities. Even modified activities. I do have my first follow up appointment tomorrow but that is for staple removal. My hospital release papers say no lifting over 15lbs for 4 weeks and no abdominal exercise. Any insight is greatly appreciated.
I was doing a lot of walking within a week, on the treadmill and eliptical at 2 weeks, and started light jogging at 3 weeks. I was sleeved on May 28th. I'd stay out of public water until your incisions are well-healed, but other than that, go for it. Just no lifting until 3 weeks out.
