I am curious how fellow nurses have planned meals while working 12+ hour shifts (ie. 3 meals)? Do you pre-cook a week at a time? Do you crock pot? How do include fresh veggies when on a stretch? How do you ensure you eat q5h <as recommended by my nutritionist>? What are your favorite meals/snacks <although snacks are supposed to be off the table going forward as well>?
I drink isopure waters that have 160 cal 0 carbs and 40g protein. That way I am getting hydration and protein. Will take cheese or yogurt for snacks/meals or chicken salad. Drink shake on way to work.
I freeze some of most things I cook in 1/4 or 1/2 cup containers, and then take however many I need for how long I will work. I often use small containers of Greek yogurt. Sometimes a few bites of salad or fresh fruit, but not as often. Love Unjury chicken flavor protein and keep some at work in my locker. Valerie
What is isopure waters? I googled n get water filter info...
Vitamin shoppe carries but I find them too sweet and couldn't drink. I do strawberry injury with crystal light.
Where do you get strawberry injury? Chicken unjuery flavor protein?
iso pure zero carb....is cheaper through luckyvitamin.com . unjury is best from the unjury web site.... make sure you get isopure ready to drink....and itz zero carb. the grape is good....the fruitpunch is better.. gnc has it but it's pricy. I found starkist prepacked tuna salad in foil bags....18 g protien, and 100 cal....the NUT is ok with it....it sits well on the sleeve...and it tastes good. I also found new calcium chews that are not chocolate... Costco has a HUGE bag that taste exactly like a craft caramel...texture and all. I know it's not much but hopefully it helps.
