Hello friends!

Those past weeks have been I've been focusing in trying to recover. It was unfortunate that we had several heat waves, at some point my scars didn't heal the way it should have and the nurse who came home decided to delay the removal of staples/stitches.
It's all gone since Wednesday now and it did help a lot with mobility. But unfortunately we can see now that I did develop 2 "dog ears" and time will say if it will go away or if the surgeon will need to correct it. At this stage I think it will need the surgeon's help, but he will confirm in September.
I got special compression sleeves prescribed but so far can't use it. I got several kinds and nothing work, it's always too small and uncomfortable. The pharmacist did her best to help but was not successful. I was reading that many people use compression sleeves that you can buy for workout instead of the medical ones that are too stiff. I tried several sizes, so far not successful either but I think the last size I ordered should be the right one. Fingers crossed!! because we are driving our 16 years old to college on Saturday, it's a long drive and compression bandage do not offer the same support that compression sleeve do...I don't want to be in pain during the whole trip...

My arms are still sensitive and I can't really move like before yet, but getting there. I can't carry anything heavy but everyday life is now almost ok. My legs are not that swollen any more and I can see know more clearly the new "definition" after removal of the fatty tumors and fat tissue (I had a small lipo done at the same time). I've been wearing my compression stockings for 3 weeks night and day like prescribed, I can now take it off a little (take it off at night), but I try to keep it on as much as possible. It did help a lot with edema and it's not all gone yet, could take up to 3/6 months from what the doc said.

I came back from the surgeries with a weight gain (indeed, so much medication and chemicals! the weight gain was expected) so I did focus those past weeks on eating a diet with high fiber content and prone to decrease inflammation (for ex more omega 3).
I've been drinking more than usual to evacuate all those chemicals, and I can smell on my skin it's starting to go away.
I used lots of "drainage" herbal tea. I also took some herbal supplement for the last 8 days that oncologists recommend to their patients after chemo. It does help the liver to detox. Hopefully it's working!
The weight gain is almost gone now, with a little bonus, so that's positive!

My surgeon did warn me I would need more than one month off to be back at work in good shape since I had several surgeries at once and he gave me 3 1/2 weeks of sick leave (he wanted to give me more but I said no) and I'm taking vacations right after that.
Hopefully I will be in better shape in September!

Thanks Stacey!! for sure I was expecting an easier recovery...but we can't know in advance how the body will react!
What actually is making me worry right now is the tachycardia. Since my surgery was over 4 hours, it's apparently a side effect quiet common after a long surgery, but after three weeks it's not gone yet and I might need to see a specialist and have exams to see what's going on!! what a mess...
