    Hi.
Congrats on your success so far. You are doing great!
There are specific vitamins for bariatric patients however my surgeon recommended a clinician's brand Multivitamin and mineral supplement. I take 2 a day and all my bloods are perfect so it must be working ok.
You may want to consider a chewable one to start off with. The ones I bought were awful and I used to have to crush them and take with a bit of protein shake. The capsules are much easier.
I found out the hard way that I couldn't take vitamins on an empty stomach so maybe when you start taking them consider waiting until you have eaten.

Here's everything I got before surgery with all the details. Surprised your doctor didn't give you more.

For vitamins I take a one-a-day ProCare Health online multivitamin. They come in a tiny chewable for early on, and a bigger capsule I take now. I was told the over-the-counter ones don't have everything we need. Then I take Calcium Citrate (not carbonate) 1200 mg a day. Now I get them at Walmart. Early on I bought the chewable from Building Blocks online, I liked the orange ones. I could never find the Calcium Citrate over-the-counter in a chewable.

Sounds like you're off to a great start. Good luck and get ready for FUN!

I use these and love them. Taste great and everything is chew-able if you prefer with no chalky aftertaste.

Congrats on the success so far!! It only gets better from here. Imagine what April 11th 2020 will look and feel like!! Enjoy the journey!

I tried several bariatric vitamins, and since my stomach could not handle those, I tried many other kinds, the first year I was switching vitamins almost every month. The liquid version was really bad.

The easier on my stomach for the first year was the gummies "Flinstones complete".
But since I have specific deficiencies (was there before the sleeve, just got worth after) I took extra iron (60 to 80 mg per day) and D (10 000 ui per day). I always took an omega 3.

Before and a few months after the sleeve I was taking biotin to "prevent" hair loss, I think it was doing nothing and at some point I had hair on my head falling, and unwanted chin hair growing...so I stopped it.

At the beginning I was taking most vitamins with my morning shake.

The only exception was for the iron, it has to be taken on an empty stomach, and I was taking it for ex mid morning and mid afternoon, to increase absorption since taking it all at once was not working well. It took some time trying and adjusting. Take it with vitamin C also does help absorption. Most of the brand I took had vitamin C mixed with iron.

    Once a week I took a sublingual B12.

Now three years later I take a high potency multi (Now Food Eve or opti women) plus iron, D, omega 3. The B12 only every 2 weeks.

The most important is to have regular blood tests and stay on top of any deficiencie that can show up.
With my health issues I had to be really careful. After 18 months my anemia got worth and at that time only had blood test every 3 months. So last year I had blood tests every month.

It did pay, and even if my deficiencies are not completely gone, they are "contained", and one of my specialist said that my results were much better than most of his patients with my kind of health issues. I told him it was "hard work" and costly too!

What's important is to take your vitamins every day, use an alarm on your phone if necessary.

    Take care!
