My afternoon today at the hospital was really fruitful! My infusion went well, almost no side effect besides some nausea. The staff was amazing.
The gyn decided to put me in chemical menopause since my iron level is just too complicated to manage and obviously my hemorrhages wont stop for a while so it will never get better without help.
I'm a little scared of what will happen with the medication...but one thing at a time...I will try for three months and see the specialist and discuss the findings/side effects.....they know I'm sensitive to many medications, especially everything dealing with hormones...
So on an other subject, the first biopsies for the tumors were negative pre op, but the analyze post op came positive. The samples were sent back for more tests, but it is still positive.
Apparently, nothing to worry about at that stage, it is pre-cancerous...but still, the big C!!
I was having mixed feelings post op, so many complications and pain, was it worth it to have the surgery??? I had moments of doubt... Of course my skin won't get stuck in sleeves any more, that was so painful. And I had to get ride of those tumors since I was advised not to keep those more than ten years.
But now with the confirmation that those tumors had to be removed for a very good reason, and that I couldn't wait any longer, now comes the very bad news that I will have more surgeries....for sure...and "soon"...
But one fire at a time! today, we fixed the big issue with iron: may be for good!!
I was told several years ago that with my multiple allergies it was too risky to have iron infusion. I'm glad the prof in hematology didn't agree...
After only five minutes of the infusion, I could feel my breezing was already better : I didn't care about being nauseous, more oxygen was reaching my body, it did feel good, that was a good day!
