I am just curious if anyone has been able to file for short term disability from work, in the US, if having your surgery in Mexico?

    I know you can if you have it in the US but not sure about Mexico. I didn't need it though as I had no complications.

    You would only need disability if you have serious complications, which I hope you won't. At my job I could take two weeks off before requesting short term disability. For most of us 2 weeks is all we needed.

    I would think your PCP could make the request if you are having problems. Mexico shouldn't make any difference if you are sick.
