This lady has been sleeved! As promised, I will fill everyone in on the details. If you don't care about details, please just bypass my post.
Was picked up at the hotel at 6:40 this morning and driven the two blocks to the hospital. Shortly after arriving, a nurse came in and prepared me for surgery by wrapping my legs and starting my IV. Dr. Almanza came in and explained the surgery to us. His English is quite good. He was followed by Dr. Hernandez who came in to meet us. Dr. Hernandez's English is slightly better than my Spanish (which is none). Both were very nice.
I was first for surgery and was escorted into the operating room. Layed on the bed and and was talking to the anesthesiologist and the next thing I knew I was in recovery. The anesthesiologist is my new best friend.
Wheelchair ride to my room and helped into bed. Didn't stay there very long before getting up and walking around. Thank God I have not experienced nausea. Some gas but not unbearable. My only pain is from the incisions but that is to be expected. The nurses have been incredible. Of course, nothing to drink but was allowed water to swish around in my mouth and spitting it out. That helped tremendously. All in all, a very good day. Should be released to the hotel tomorrow. Will blog then filling you in on how my night went.
