I am amazed that it's been two weeks.
I have resisted the urge to weigh myself. I have my 2 week follow up in 3 days. I want consistency in the numbers - so, I will wait (anxiously) to see how I have done.
What I have done right:
- Drinking my water and staying hydrated
- Taking slow and steady sips.
- Resting when I need to and respecting my body's voice.
What I could have done better:
- Walking 15 minutes a day.
- Using the exercise bands more consistently.
- Avoiding internet/TV shopping!
What I am looking forward to:
- Full liquids! I am soooo tired of broths.
- Finding out what I have lost and using that as a motivation to keep moving forward.
What I am grateful for:
- Not having to do this alone.
- My little brother (27 years old) came through for me -- just having someone in the house was comforting.
- My friend of 20 years traveling from another state to stay with me over a holiday weekend.
- The lack of nausea that many have reported.
- Pain that was more than manageable.
- This website and the people who have so generously shared their experiences so that I was not shocked or blindsided by anything I experienced.
- One of Atlanta's top bariatric surgeons agreeing to do my surgery and not being afraid because of my size.
- God's grace that's brought me through.
Things to remember....
I have a long journey ahead of me but if I keep my eyes on my goal and keep my steps steady and consistent.....I WILL get there and I WILL never go back.
