  1. 14 Weeks Post Op

I'm done feeling bad about how little I've lost. Not going to get discouraged when I see others who've lost more in less time. I am me and I'm doing the best I can. Seeing progress and that's all that matters. Right?!!

So yesterday I had a post op check with my surgeon. In the past month I've lost 14.8 lbs for a total of 42.2 lbs (as of yesterday, today I'm at 43.2 lbs lost) He was happy. Told me that 15 lbs a month is a great rate of loss. This is the first visit since my surgery ...
  2. Awkward Moment.... yikes!

Soooo here I sit at 35 lbs gone... feeling on top of the world.... then I read where someone who had their surgery 5 days earlier than me has lost 90 lbs! WOW!!!!! No disrespect to her, she's earned it. I know that couldn't have been easy, and I know everyone is different. I do have to admit though, it did make me wonder, what in the hell am I doing so wrong?

Sooo of course I head over to my facebook page to whine about it.

I know..... everyone is different, ...
  3. Quinoa... my new best friend.. all kinds of good things in my world. Love this!

Sooo I finally got brave enough to try out Quinoa and... I LOVED it. Made a recipe off of Pinterest and it was super yummy. Hubby even loved it.

Had a small victory yesterday during my Aqua Zumba class, we were doing our cool down stretches, and the stretch where you bend your leg backwards and grab your ankle and stretch. I can't even remember the last time in my adult life that I was able to do that ...
  4. Been gone a couple of weeks from here and missed it.

I've been SO busy the past few weeks. Missed being here to post.

My Mom was sick and in the hospital, thankfully she's better and back at her nursing home.

Big changes for me though, lots of small victories.

There was a time when my Mom being in the hospital would have given me the internal free pass to eat what I wanted and as much as I wanted.

The first day she was in the hospital, lots of uncertainty, I was really stressed. It ...
  5. The Scale Is Moving... in the right direction!!!

I've worked really hard this week to make sure that I've been getting my 64 ozs of water/fluids each day, and I've focused on eating as much protein as I can.

It seems to be working !!!!! I'm down 2.6 lbs with a total of 19.6 since surgery.
