Hello. I would like to lose weight without harm to my health. Give me some advice

I see this is an older post but I figured I'd add my response, I can't really answer for caffeine because I've never been a coffee drinker but I do know that I have friends who get wicked headaches when they don't get their caffeine, so i suggest slowly decreasing your intake.
And loose skin, i lost a total of 130lbs before gaining some back, my pics in my page here show it. I had some loose skin. But really not much, and I didn't do anything to prevent.
You could do what pregnant women do, cocoa
    butter
    Good luck!!

I was on a pre op diet for 3 months eating basically nothing, 1000-1200 calories a day but no carbs, starches, etc... had to begin eating properly. Then a pure liquid diet 10 days before surgery...I thought I was going to die, LOL! I wont touch the clear protein punch drinks (but still have a chocolate protein drink every day), those drinks made me sick. I did have SF popsicles, clear broth and some jello, not red colored jello. I survived, over 3.5 years ago... and it was so worth it.

I stay away from carbonated drinks. I had said before surgery that if i could drop the weight I wanted to lose, I'd be happy and not care about the loose skin. Well, I care now. I lost 130 pounds and my stomach bothers me as much as my Bat Wing arms. I'm very active and live in the HEAT so I wear tank tops daily, but the arms bug me to no end. So..I have decided I am I having the tummy tuck and arm lift. I see the surgeon Oct 1. It will be done in stages, stomach first then arms.

I was simply put on a low fat diet and since I was already eating that way, I didn't have any problem. I ate things like yogurt, cereal, salads with lean meats, veggies--very little to no sugar. Lots of water. Try to start eliminating soda if you are a soda drinker. Weigh and measure your food. Portion control is very important.

I was on protein drinks for 5 days. Could also have stuff like sugar free popsicles, broth, whatever. Boring but so worth it!

Crazy how every doctor is so different. 33 days?!? But you should probably do what he/she says.

I also did optifast, like KiwiGal. But only 2 weeks. And I did have a slight headache the first three days, but I knew if I couldn't get through the 2 weeks, I might have to rethink the surgery

I was on Optifast for 3 weeks prior to surgery.
One item each for breakfast, lunch, dinner with the addition of 1 cup of vegetables (not potatoes etc) with dinner. Boy did I look forward to those veges!
The Optifast products were shakes, bars, soups or desserts. I stuck with the shakes and bars. The soups are not very nice and I wanted to get out of the habit of dessert type products.

This was the worst part of the whole process but even then it wasn't so bad. I knew it was for a finite period and that it was to benefit my surgery.

All the best, I hope it goes well for you.

    Adanso,
You will be able to eat and drink basically anything you want after surgery--just small amounts of it. Also, your tastebuds may change. Things you used to like, you may or may not be able to tolerate. Also, yes you can have wine, but for me, one glass and its like I've had two or three.

Thanks a lot. What about wine, can I have wine after the VSG?

I was able to drink coffee and caffeine after surgery in small amounts. Now 6 years later I drink more than one cup a day!

Loose skin depends on lots of things. Age, how much weight you lose, etc. You can have surgery, try lotions, exercise to tone, or just deal with it. I lost about 80 pounds and find my loss skin hides well under clothes. I'm too chicken to have a tummy tuck, being sliced hip to hip. But it would be nice!
