I make my own in the Betty Crocker pizza maker https://www.walmart.com/ip/Betty-Cro...r-Red/37222718 Best 30 something dollars I ever spent. Also makes the fluffiest scrambled eggs and omelettes too - 3 - 4 minutes from start to finish But I do keep a stash of the individual small pizzas by Red Baron too - 1/2 of one of those and I'm stuffed
Agreed - we're traveling this week, to family and then next leg of trip to friends. At family's I chose to cook ahead and bring ice chest and my "staples" -- because none of them cook. So that's helped. I to indulged -- a thin traditional slice(about 3/4) with fresh mortadella -- slowly savored, heaven! Weight is maintaining, toad froth at bay. Life is good! Healthy is so much better!
Thanks Brenda. Yes, it feels like my sleeve and I are in sync!
Hi Dutchie! Thanks for the inspiration! It looks like you've got a well tuned sense of your body and your needs and are working it with ease! awesome!! xo Brenda
I'm about 6 weeks from surgery and it's nice to know that there will be some food normalcy way down the road. I've been having thoughts of being this outcast freak of a friend by my social circle, the only one unable to ever have a slice of pizza or French fry. Lol. I'm SO looking forward to getting healthier though.
They say it takes 21 days to break a habit! However, after breaking our bad habits and devouring those food we use to eat, it no longer has the same appeal as it once did!!
Thank you! That is very reassuring!
Over 6 years out - biscuits and gravy for breakfast (1/4th of what a normal serving is). Pizza, tacos, cookies whatever all in moderation. 108 weight during my twice monthly scale check in
Yup, pizza (occasionally) is nice. But, like you, it's the good food that I crave anymore. Still. Four years post-op.
*chuckle*
I have pizza at least once a week, and it certainly is not tuna pizza. Ahhh! I'd strangle someone if they put a fish on my pizza ;-) but really. Pizza is life. I live for it. There is no such thing as bad pizza. Unfortunately, it is the one food where I'm going to get up the next day a good pound or two heavier. No big deal though, I have 6 more days to get rid of the extra pounds until PIZZA DAY again...unless we have two or three pizza days.
That is so motivational for me as i think of the future and how it will be for me when i go places with family. i am not quite 2 weeks post-op but i am so thankful for this site.
I am certainly not above having a slice of pizza or a cookie but I'm with you that it just doesn't have the same appeal anymore. I prefer the healthy eating habit that I have now. It's great isn't it?!
Pizza! Go you! I SO enjoy a piece now and then. But after crap like pizza all week with grandkids, we are having a delicious hunk of salmon tonight with veggies. I am so looking forward to getting back to healthy eating. I doubt I will want pizza for a long time.
I'm sorry to hear you are struggling. What are you going to do to about it? Any plans?
Thank you for the post. Its nice to hear someone is doing well. Myself not so well. I cant eat much. No meat! No eggs! It all comes right up i cook dinner for my husband and get full or nauseated just by the smell. It is getting depressing. I think i will go to a support group tonight for the first time! This has been a hard 7 months! I have lost weight, but i feel if i dont start getting food in i wont survive. Im a nurse that. Works 12 to 13 hr shift. This is becoming impossible. I have no energy. Something has to change soon !!! Best of wishes to you!

Congrats Dutchie!! You are doing fabulously!! Very good advice! You are much stronger than me. I eat all foods occasionally...pizza included.
Congratulations! Such a great post. Love that you have embraced this tool and are making it work for you. Totally inspiring.
Wow thank you that sleeve this is a great post
Thank you Elllie! *blush*
Dutchsleeve, well done on your fantastic achievement and good advice that comes with it.
Thanks Annie! Ooohhh, Canadian bacon... I do not eat meat, but bacon... And being a Canadian by birth, I did eat a lot of it... Isn't this a wondererous and interesting journey? I still can't get it, why some days you can eat all kinds of things without any trouble and the next day you just can't. Life and sleeves are full of surprises!
Thanks Edie! Isn't this fun?
Oh this was wonderful this morning! I found lots of helpful tips, and de-stressed about some things. I confess to pizza - we order a thin crust (from HungryHowies), and I get light cheese & mushrooms on half - let my husband go wild on his half. I eat it s l o w l y. It is fabulous, and if I feel wild, I add some of my own Canadian bacon. I've been concerned about my maintenance, but your experience truly was heartening. I don't feel hungry any more, but can tell if my blood sugar is low (or I check it since I had Type II diabetes). I do, once in a while, a homemade 1/4 waffle -- a special treat. I find protein easy, vegetables not quite as easy. And salad is a mystery to me these days! Yes, you are a veteran, and generous encourager as well.
