  1. On vacation, survived the holidays.

Whew, I made it to our January vacation. I got through the holidays with minimal damage. I was at first going to stick to the diet plan like a trooper. No variance, no deviation... follow the plan! My husband (my co-sleever) and I discussed the up coming holiday eating with trepidation. We decided to not restrict any food that anyone prepared as off-limits and would make the best effort to try to stick to the plan. I would definitely NOT cook foods off the plan.

Then I got the puppy ...
  2. The Same Old Thing, Differently.

About a decade or so ago, When I was an active RN, my unit was chosen to be a pilot for initiating the TOYOTA system to nursing. It is now more commonly referred to "just in time" inventory control. I was on the committee to help roll out the plan and get feedback from the other nurses. The representative for this change wanted to calculate materials used in dressing changes. Right down to the inches of tape used. 3. The son-in-law visited today

I watched my grandson to day for a few hours and my daughter sent her husband over to pick him up. He had not seen us since immediately after surgery. We are now close to 6 weeks out. I have posted his before and after pics in another blog entry. He is six years post GB. His journey was a little different ...
  4. Survived a week of Vacation!

Whew I made it! The husband wanted to spend his last week of post-surgical recovery someplace with a hot tub. The surgeon gave us the go ahead on swimming and hot tub. So.... Thanks to our timeshare company, I found a nice little resort in the mountains of Massachusetts. In addition, it was a short hop to visit his son in Schenectady. We had never visited them before. It was out second week of pureed foods and we would move up to phase 3 before coming home.

    The trip was beautiful ...
  5. My son-in-law's success

I am forever commenting on my son-in-law's success story. He is my poster boy for bariatric surgery and my mentor. He reached beyond his recommended weight loss for a while and is now more stabilized. I thought it might be helpful for you folks to see why he has inspired me. Although he is right there to answer any question for me and give me helpful hints...... I am still very grateful to have found this forum and expanded my personal resources. With all of your available help I am sure to be a ...
