  1. Week 3 Post-Op Update

Yesterday was officially my week 3 post-op, so I am one day late posting this. As of yesterday, I am down 39 pounds from my highest weight and 25 pounds since surgery. I am now able to consume soft foods for the next week and then move on to solid food. I have noticed that I get full very quickly when consuming anything other than straight liquid. 2. 2 Week Post-Op Update

Hello again! I have officially made it to week 2 post-op! I am happy to say that I am down 33 pounds from my highest weight and 19 since surgery! I am a little tired of being on liquids, but it is getting easier each day to get in my water and protein. Currently I am doing protein shakes, Popsicles and jello. I have one more week of my full liquid diet, so I am going to add in applesauce, yogurt and creamy soups this week... all approved by my surgeon. I am excited to see what this week brings!
  3. 1 Week Post-Op Update

I am officially one week post-op today, and I am excited to announce that I am 26 pounds down from my highest weight and 12 pounds down since surgery! I have to say that I feel some of the weight is water weight because it has been difficult for me to get in my water and protein every day, but I am still happy to see the numbers going down.
  4. One Day Post Op

Well, I am officially one day post op! Everything went great with my surgery yesterday. Dr. Alvarez and his staff are amazing! I would highly recommend him to anyone considering the gastric sleeve. Earlier today they capped my IV, removed my leg wrappings and bandages, let me take a shower, and started me on some ice chips. I'm a little sore, especially since I haven't received any pain meds since my IV was capped, but I feel pretty good all things considered.
  5. It's That Time!

Well, the time is here. My fiancé and I leave out early tomorrow morning to fly in to San Antonio. We will meet the driver there, and she will take us to Eagle Pass for the night. Saturday morning we will be heading across the border into Mexico for my surgery with Dr. Alvarez! I am both nervous and excited! I cannot wait to officially begin my journey. I know there will be bumps and obstacles along the way, but everything worth having is worth fighting for!
