It is fun to still get that "full" feeling while trying something not typically in my food plan. I actually tried a Big Mac for the first time in almost 5 years on a road trip last week, and while I couldn't eat it all, it was yummy! And I can probably wait another 5 years for another one.

    What a nightmare!
You need someone to look after YOU!

And things like mowing the lawn? I'd pay someone to do it (I do, I simply can't do it).

Sorry to hear about your daughter . This is NOT the outcome one envisions when one has VSG surgery. I read in your later post that both you and your husband had had complications too.

So sorry, but I can only be a listening ear for support from the other side of the world.

*shaking my head* over your situation.
I HOPE that there are people who can give YOU support.

You're such a trooper and a great team player! Thanks for sharing the pictures. You will look back at this pictures and smile. I know I did especially with the captions. Your daugther sleeping though it all, sounds like my son! WTH? You're mother ate what 8 days after surgery?

WOW! That's a lot on one person's plate!! I hope thing begin to balance out and you find some sort of relief. I tip my hat off to you for doing what you're doing to keep things moving.Prayers for you sweetie!

How about you hire someone to mow? We use teenagers in our neighborhood who are happy to make $30. And we are happy to stay out of the heat.

Or maybe someone to clean both places every other week? Your plate sounds too full! I'm tired just reading about your life.

Well crappola! You deserve some cheese with this whine! Seriously, that's a lot no matter how healthy and energetic and organized you could possibly be. And NC heat -- I hear you about the circle of hell.

I play the "old lady" card once in a while -- like, neighbor who is younger, could you help me? And one of those nice guys mows the lawn or helps Jim (even when he doesn't think he needs it). Do NOT be afraid to reach out and ask some body. Some body can help you, and probably needs the boost that being a hero gives us!

I'll pray for you to find some rest and peace. And the protein = energy? I don't know how bad I'd feel without it but not willing to try!

Yikes!!! Gawd!!! But Pita wants the burgers LOL :-) Gosh hope it all resolves soon, he can mow on crutches??? :-)
  12. Christie13's Avatar
Oh the things men do to get out of mowing the lawn!!! LOL. Seriously, hope he feels better soon and you don't work too hard.

PS- Protein only builds muscles if you work your muscles for them to grow. Just saying!!

See, I eat fast food or sit down restaurant every day. The only difference is that I don't eat it three times a day like I did on the trip. I hate cooking. I hate trying to please everyone's tastes, so we all get what we want from where we want each day. I have no reason to feel guilt. I weigh 115 lbs, a size 0, and will be 4 years out in November. I never started any of those cut out whole food groups or not allow myself to have exactly what I want to eat rules; therefore, my body never had to readjust to eating normal foods. I just eat less which is exactly why I had the surgery. I didn't have it to go on some no carb, low carb, can't eat this, won't eat that diet. Nope, not for me, and the me way works quite nicely... for me. I had Taco Bell for lunch yesterday and pizza and bread pudding from my favorite Italian place for dinner last night. This morning I'm one pound less than yesterday, so only one pound above my normal 114.

If and when it stops working for me, I'll try something different. For now, I weigh myself every single day (except while I was on the trip because I left my scale in a hotel last time I did that) so I'm able to know when I need to eat the grilled chicken versus the fried chicken. So far it really is just that simple... eat what I want. My stomach can't hold enough to matter. Admittedly, I do waste a lot of food and money on that food. Oh well, that's the price I pay.

Glad to hear you had a safe trip and that all went well.

In January on this year, my wife and I moved from Phoenix, Arizona to South Dakota where during our travels we too engaged in a completed and total food fest. The difference for us was the feelings of guilt we had over eating the way we were, and (speaking for myself) the feeling of nausea I fought to overcome on a daily basis because of the nature of the foods I was consuming. In doing so, we hardly gained any weight as well, however, what we did find at the end of our travels was that we realized we no longer missed eating those types of foods. Nowadays, the only fast foods we partake of is the occasions sub sandwich, and on a very rare occasion a char broiled hamburger from our local burger shop. Other than, we have grown content with home cooking and enjoying the process of spending time cooking together.

I am just totally in love with your chihuahua!!!!!! I cant even!!!! So cute. And I am lolling heartily at you on the floor in front of the sub shop! Travel food ain't always the best but you do what you can do!

Sometimes I eat more as well. But I do not make it a regular continuing habit. I do not deprive myself in situations that call for trying things out. But do clean it up the next day or two. You look fabulous!

Guess I'm in the minority. I get on the scale once a week and if I haven't left the house for social events or anything for a long time since I work from home I'll grab a pair of jeans that I know i like to stay in and if they're a little snug then ok - cut back.
Went out last weekend and realized I hadn't had my jeans on since November
  24. azladyrider's Avatar
I have jeans that are 0's and some that are 5's no biggie - I'm still at 107 - 113 so not worried

You know women's clothes are never the same in size! I can wear one size at one store and another at another store. Don't know why men don't have this problem, if they are a 36 waist they just buy those pants and they fit.

    I wouldn't worry about a thing - you weigh 115 for heaven's sake!!

I stick to the same brands as I hate how each one seems to be different! I feel your pain, but you look amazing!!

I wouldn't be too worried about it. You are tall so size 25 is tiny.

Yup. I've heard comments about my "twins" since I blossomed in 7th grade. I remember all the "jokes" people thought were ok to say about my bigger chest. It's ridiculous that people think this behavior is acceptable. Sorry hon.

I'm a large chested woman too. Even after my weightloss goals are met, there is a real possibility that I will still be a large chested woman. I agree with others.. unfriend him and PM him why. You need to be able to pass your strength and self respect on to that amazing, beautiful granddaughter of yours. There is no room in life for anyone that makes you feel uncomfortable. Life is precious and wonderful. Stick with those that see it too and appreciate your beauty!!!! ( hugs)
