  1. The curse of the 180s & things I'm happy about ...

Well, I seem to have an issue with getting out of the 180s. 2-3 years ago, I was on a Medically supervised weight loss program at my weight loss center and got down to 185 then stalled and headed right back up to 219. So, I get sleeved June 4th and off it comes - so excited - then 187 stall for week 3. Week 4, I felt better as i lost 5 lbs. Now, I'm down to 182 and the past 4 days i've been stalled at 182. I can't express how EXCITED I would be if i could get past the 180s!!!!

    Darn ...
  2. One week post-op ...

Well, i am actually 8 days post op I guess, but we'll call this my one week check in for myself.

I feel really great. So much better than I thought I'd feel at this point.

Liquids/Protein: I still have a hard time getting all my liquids in but I'm doing pretty well on my protein finally. One thing I just don't understand is how we can drink so much and not stretch our sleeve/stomachs out. There are times I'm drinking a protein drink (skim + powder) and I just feel ...
  3. 3rd day out - ugh the liquids and protein

Today was a pretty busy day. I'm really hoping I didn't overdo itI certainly didn't rest very much, but I am now though.

I seriously don't know how you get all your liquids in the first few days after surgery. Before surgery- bring it on - i always drank at least 64 oz of water, etc. Also protein shakes - pre-op not a problem of course. Now, I am struggling to get 40+ oz liquids in and almost all of that is protein shakes. I think today I only managed to get in 48 G protein even. ...
  4. 2 days out ...

Well, I got out of the hospital yesterday afternoon - I was determined to go home, so I did lots of walking, and kept what little food I ate down. Last night and this morning, I had some bouts of dry heaves. I didn't really have enough in my stomach to actually vomit. It hurt, but it hurts coughing as well. The worst was the gas pains. It definitely helped to get up and walk. And the gas finally moved down some to the bottom of my belly.

    I haven't weighed myself today and I don't ...
  5. I made it! 12 hours post-op

Well, I made it. I admit that when I woozily woke up and saw the people in the operating room, I thanked God and took a deep breath. I've been sipping on water and eating ice chips all day with the occasional sugar free popsicle. The broth isn't sitting too well. I didn't actually get sick but thought i was going to. Maybe my sips were too big, but in any case, I don't care to see broth again today!

The worst part for me at this point is the gas. They put gas meds in my IV so they ...
