  1. How my sleeve cured my son's nightmares

    Last night my 8 year old came downstairs after having a nightmare. Eyes were red and swollen and his cheerful demeanor was gone. I had him snuggle in my lap while we watch TV. Soon after getting in my lap Bart, the alien in my stomach now, started to scream. He thought is was the funniest thing. Bart was extra loud last night. My son was able to go back to bed.

    I do work in a surgical ICU that does deal with weight loss surgery patients. That is one reason why after 4 years of it being recommended I decided to have surgery.     This week I have to introduce friends and co-workers to the alien in my stomach. His name is Bart (bell +fart) and he has no volume control. He is so impressive that a seasoned ICU RN stopped cold in her tracks when he said hello. Yes he does talk, translation varies by which of my international co-workers hears him.
