  1. Scheduled for surgery!

That's it, Im actually scheduled for VSG surgery for July 6!!!!!!! In a week and a half I will be starting my 2 week liquid pre op diet. It's all just so sureal to me right now.

I have some minor fears about complicatons, but I'm mostly just so excited to feel like a success with weight loss and more importantly weight management/maintenance. A list of NSV's I'm looking forward to are:

    1. Walking/standing without my feet, back and ankles hurting. Also, being so out ...
  2. SCARED!!!Having EGD Done Tomorrow

I am scheduled to have an upper EGD with biopsies done tomorrow. They are concerned because my vitamin B12 was a little low and will not schedule me for my sleeve until the results come back.

I am VERY scared of this procedure. Im scared of my throat scarring, and of having extreme stomach pain afterwards. I have an interview for a new job scheduled for the day after on Friday, will I feel well enough to go? What has been some of your experiences with having this done if it was mandatory ...
  3. Time Off Work

I am wondering how much time people have taken off of work that have desk jobs.

I know a lot of people have said they are ready to go back in as little as a few days post op. I want to take as much time off as my surgeon will allow since I am eligible for STD at 100% pay. I just want to take the time to develop healthy habits, be well rested and emotionally ready, and be on solid food well before having to deal with the stress of working on top of adjusting. Pretty much be healed ...
  4. Travel at 4 months Post Op

I am planning a vacation to Cancun, Mexico at the end of October for my 32nd birthday. I also plan on having the sleeve surgery in the beginning of July, hopefully the first week of July. How were most people feeling at almost 4 months post op? I'm worried about paying for my flight and not feeling well enough for travel. Any advice or personal stories are appreciated. Thanks!
  5. Approved!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited!! I finally recieved my acceptance letter from the review committee to have my surgery done. I have 1 more visit with my PCP and should be finished with the 6 month mandatory supervised weight loss appointments. They are also requiring me to have a consult with a GI specialist since my B12 was slightly low, and to attend 2 support group meetings which I will do this month. Here's to hoping I don't require an EGD and I will be on the sleeved side buy June, latest July!!!
