I've been doing some running for the past few months, and nothing if more fun than running in the snow! Well, maybe skiing is more fun, but I don't live in the mountains.

Good for you! Love that picture. I'm glad YOU love hiking polar-style.
I thought about you today. It snowed down here and was just too pretty NOT to venture outside and walk in the falling snow. I did only a mile, but it was quite enjoyable.
Today was the first time I have walked the hills on our property since late November, when I was 21 pounds heavier. The real reason I haven't walked outside for the last three months is that's when our beautiful, dear Irish Wolfhound who walked every day with me suddenly died. Since then it's been too sad for me to walk without her. So her death and the crappy winter weather is why I'm now on the treadmill.
But today the falling snow distracted me from her absence. I was also focused on how much easier it is to walk uphill when you weigh 21 pounds less. My stride going uphill is also much longer.
I remember the first time (back in the fall) posting here rather manically when I walked a mile and my knees didn't hurt at all. My fitness levels have continued to improve ever since! Even on this snow day, I'll hit 10,000 steps before bedtime.
Life is good.

Sorry about your dog Ann, that would be so sad. Too bad we don't live in the same part of Missouri, we could be walking buddies.
It is amazing how much weight loss helps with exercise. I used to have to stop many times going up a particular hill in my woods just to breath. Now the same hill is just a cool down for my running. Maybe by summer I'll be able to run up the hill.
I'm cheering you on.
Run, sraebaer, run!
