They gave me antibiotics in Mexico to take after surgery and instructed me to mix the contents of the capsules in something like juice and drink it. Problem is, they smell like rotten eggs. They are awful! I can't get it down. Any suggestions?

Cara, put them in a sippy cup, or water bottle, so your nose isn't smelling it. Oh god, I am doomed because my paperwork says the powdered antibiotic after surgery! Damm.... I will for sure take a water bottle that isn't open. Good luck my dear! How did everything go, besides that??

I have to take awful gall bladder medication along with acid reflux meds that taste like crap. I have to take both of them twice a day so I mix them and take them together. I hold my nose and chase them with some crystal light. I cant wait to get back to the capsules....

I was sleeved 12/19/14....And to this day..i'm still TRYING to take my powered antibiotics...( I should've been finished my meds by now)...(1/30/15)...no matter what I mix it with...It still taste horrible and leaves an aweful taste in your mouth for hours...And the smell beyond rotten eggs.....If you find a remedy, please let me know.......

Funny my husband didn't have that here! He had antibiotic in the iv then that was it. Must be something they do in Mexico.... I will talk to my doctor here, because I have a very sensitive nose!

In the hospital they gave me pills to take. I never had to crush or do liquids. If they are larger than say a baby aspirin they told me to just cut them in half to take them. I never had any problems.

They gave me capsules. I was told to open them and put the stuff in something and drink it. I couldn't so it. Luckily I have such a great doctor here. She just sent in a script for me to have a flavored oral suspension made so I can stomach it. Nice lady

I swallowed the antibiotic pills from Dr. Almanza without any adverse effects. I did not break them up.

I also had to take antibiotics for an infection in my leg-ooooooo the taste was so gross! Now I am also on the actigall and nexium-they taste gross too. I heard that after 6 weeks out you can swallow pills/capsules again -hooray
