Thanks for sharing. I used Diet Dr. Pepper as my sole source of water (10 - 12 twenty ounces bottles per day). I have not had a drop since end of November and I can't imagine going back.

If that was true, I shouldn't be loosing at all. The sugar industry started that crap. I have read articles that say they cause brain cancer , other cancers, etc. I have used sweetners for over 20 years. Sugar, processed foods, high fat foods, like fast foods, and over eating is what causes weight gain. Oh yea, I don't have cancer.

The really interesting thing about that study, though, is that the human sample size was 7 people. Seven.

Yup - not a large group at all ... that was just the last part of the study. But, in the main part of the study... "the human part of the research, gut bacteria were analyzed from 381 non-diabetics averaging age 43 who were participating in an ongoing nutrition study. They found differences in the gut bacteria among those who consumed artificial sweeteners compared with those who did not. Artificial sweetener consumers showed "markers" for diabetes, such as raised blood sugar levels and glucose intolerance."

I just thought the article was interesting because it was raising a cautionary note about possible issues that's all. I use artificial sweetner in moderation because I have a sweet tooth and want a sweet snack on occasion so this article caught my eye.

My Father's oncologist told our family... if you can't pronounce it, don't eat it. Our bodies are not made to digest/process fake food items. When we do eat items that are not natural, our bodies are not able to identify it, so what does it do with it? Who knows. Some people can eat fake stuff all their life and never have a problem... but that doesn't make it good for us, in general.

I remember my Dad's oncologist when he asked if my Dad used margerine. Dad said yes. The Dr. said... margerine is one of the biggest cancer causing products we put into our bodies. Stop eating it. Along with all the other fake, fat free, sugar free, calorie free stuff.

Just my little 2 cents worth on that topic!
