I started coughing and feeling something in my chest when I got home Saturday night. It seemed like as soon as the plane landed! Now I have a full blown chest cold with wheezing. I guess I'll go to my primary care doctor today or walk-in clinic. I've taken several small sips of Nyquil. I've also been using the little breathing thing given to me in hospital (the one where you have to breathe in to raise the ball).
I've been doing so well and feeling pretty decent otherwise, but it really stinks to be getting sick right after surgery.
Also, I haven't had a number 2 and I am 8 days out. No signs of it either and I've been putting miralax in my drinks for 5 days, plus Fiber gummies. I'm concerned that I may have issues with this. Magnesium makes me extremely nauseous (always has) so I'm not sure I can handle that, but maybe with anti-nausea meds since my surgeon prescribed a ton of it?

Ugh sucks you got sick. I would call the doc and tell him about he BM issue. Pain meds will cause constipation also. Poor thing hope you feel better....

That sucks getting sick, but I had zero energy and just wanted to sleep for the first 3 weeks, hope you not having to be at work and can just try to sleep it off.

I hope you feel better soon. Keep moving and that will help that cold not to get even worse.
The BM thing is pretty common and remember that you aren't eating like you used to, so some people find it normal to only go once a week and others go every day. You will need to find your new normal, but I wouldn't panic just yet.
Someone else mentioned it as well, but the pain meds will really stop you up.
