MY APPOINTMENT WITH THE CARDIOLOGIST IS JUNE 27 AND MY SURGERY IS SCHEDULED JULY 11,2013 I'M REALLY CONCERNED THAT MY BP WILL STILL BE HIGH HOW DO I GET IT DOWN PLEASE. HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!?!!
No salt, no coffee and try to relax. That's all I have...lol. Good luck!
All natural pomegranate juice. It's AWFUL! Very bitter BUT it works.. Make sure you get the good stuff, not oceanspray or things like that and it has to be unsweetened. Here's one of many articles supporting the theory. But I saw first hand in my aunt who's BP was 280/190 and it brought it down.
Pomegranate Juice: Blood Pressure Fighter?
Also, if you take Advil or Ibuprophen..stop. I was eating it like "jelly beans" and my BP got up to 170 / 120...stopped taking it and it went down. Also, if you are on BP meds..take them..I stopped taking mine..and that was a mistake too...I now am back on my meds, and off Advil and it is normal.
Been fighting high blood pressure since my teens, it runs in my family. Great advice from the others - exercise being the most beneficial in my experience BUT! not high intensity crazy cardio - it has to be something you can do for at least 30 minutes to see any benefit. Something moderate such as walking, even working in the yard or taking the dog for a walk or go walk around the mall for a couple hours, the more you can stay in motion the more it seems to help. If you don't stand up at work see if you can do that and stand as much as you can during the day. Eating fruit and vegetables and really avoiding sodium in all of its sneaky forms helps too. If you eat fast food or cafeteria food, try bringing your lunch or dinner from home so you can control the sodium. If you can meditate and or do yoga, you will be shocked at how it can bring down your blood pressure too. I used an FDA approved device called a resperate that makes you go into a very simple meditation and my bp went down from 170/110 to 135/85 (it took about a month) -- my doctor and I were trying to get me off my bp meds a few years ago. Good Luck!
