Default My sleeve is being good to me

Got sleeved on Monday and have felt great ever since..(except for the night of surgery..lots of throwing up). Everything went textbook. No gas pains. I've lost 5 lbs since Monday. A little tired. The only time I needed pain meds were before going to bed when I got home Thursday after traveling from Mexico (bumpy ride to the airport) then my 45 min flight to Phoenix. I know I'm lucky I didn't have to fly far. But all that traveling wore me out. Sometimes food looks really good and others, it looks and smells terrible. lol It's getting easier to get my liquids in. I've been doing better at swallowing pills too. Get the hiccups alot, and my husband laughs at me. It's all going great. I have no regrets getting my sleeve

That is excellent news, keep us posted on your progress. I will keep looking as I have 31 days until my surgery.
    Take care
    Mary
Well after nearly three of the gastric sleeve and then starting to gain weight even after going to the gym five days a week.
In January of this year I opted to have the by pass and find the after effects very different to the sleeve.
But happy to say in the space of 6 weeks I have lost nearly 9kg.
So my target weight of 70kg is looking a lot better.

Lori, we are all so very happy for you that everything went so well for you. Glad you are having a fairly pain free recovery. I dread my plane ride home (not really home - but back to work). My flight will be 28 hrs back to Kuwait & then another day of jumping mil air back to my assigned base. We are all with you in spirit! Keep us informed of you journey... DAVE

Dave, Are you CRAZY??? lol I mean, I totally understand wanting the sleeve and all, but OMG! You are getting surgery and going back to the middle east?? You know you can't lift anything over 10 lbs the first few weeks, then nothing over 25 lbs the rest of the 6 weeks recovery. Hope you have a desk job.
My goodness..God be with you and be safe and careful. You must be the bravest or at the least, gutsiest person ever.

I hope your recover is as easy as mine has been..but that's alot of travel time after surgery. I only had to fly 45 min and was zonked and sore..That was the only time I took pain medication was after traveling home. Strong mind and positive attitude will certainly get you through.
    Good luck with it all.

Yikes that's a hell of a long time on a plane. My trip was 9 hours (approx) with 1 layover and I was literally nearly in tears by the time we pulled into our driveway I was so exhausted. You're either nuts or determined that's for sure. I hope you have a lot of time off after you get back there.... my thoughts are with you!

It's beginning to look like nuts is winning out! Luckily, I have my ambien & tramadol to keep "just fine" during the flights...

WOW! That's a long flight for anyone....let alone after having surgery! The DRIVE home almost did me in...more from motion sickness than soreness really. Good luck to you both on your journey!

Do you think you could get your local doctor to prescribe you a small amount of Vicodin or Darvoset? My family doctor did for me and I took it with me to Mexico and then took one before I got on the plane. Dr. Bettancourt knew I had it and said that they can't prescribe anything heavier than Naproxen there and he said that he was fine with my taking it but to break it in half so the large pill didn't get stuck. You might need something a little stronger for such a long plane ride.

I'm doing really well. Going today to get my stitches out. I have lost 27 lbs and starting to get my 60 grams of protein in. I drank the Chike shakes before surgery. They were so good. I can't get them down now. They are too thick. I think I will try them again in a month or so. I have been drinking the unflavored unjury with crystal lite and it's much thinner and goes down easier. I have been mixing them with Smart Balance milk because there is 25% more protein than in regular skim milk. Sometimes I mix the crystal lite strawberry and the unjury with Mott's toddler apple juice and water for a different flavor.
