It could not hurt to go back to basics and go thru all the phases of the food plan again. I think that is basically what the 5 day sleeve test is. What ever you decide to try I wish you luck. You deserve it sweaty.

Highest weight 440 lbs. lowest weight 9.5 lbs at birth
    Date of surgery weight 340
    12 week checkup 301 BMI <50 yeah!

In my experience, when working out vigorously, the body tends to hold on for a while. I would usually lose after I took a few days off. Also a day or two of carb loading and kicked up calories would get things moving again. I know it sounds like the worst advice ever... Stop exercising and eat crap. Lol But it had worked for me. Sometimes our bodies appreciate us shaking it up a bit. Hope this helps. I'm sure you'll see the scale drop in no time. And just remember, the muscle will weigh more than the fat you're replacing.

A lot of the initial weightloss (first week or so) isn't fat but fluid, your body has to keep adjusting to the fact its not being fed as much anymore, that's why it slows down, it gets used to smaller amount, you should be losing like you would on a diet approx 2 lbs a week. Just remember the weight didn't go on overnight, it won't come off overnight. Generally it takes 12-18 months to lose 65%-70% of excess bodyweight with a sleeve. You are doing fantastic for 4 months, it doesn't matter how quickly you lose the weight, the thing to stay focused on is you're losing.

When you start dieting and working out, glycogen is going to go first and carry water with it, it's the most readily available source for fuel since you're not getting the extra calories in. Fat is used last for engery and fuel, so you've gotta work from one source to another to get to where you're actually losing the fat, which comes to the typical 2 or so pounds of weight loss a week once you've gotten down to where you should be. After a while, the glycogen stores are replenished, I've gained weight at times during these phases knowing my diet and workouts are on point because glycogen holds a large nutritional make up, a lot of calories compared to the small amount of fat that would make up that same amount. Weight loss is a pretty complex thing once you break it down with a lot of things going on behind the scenes, plus when you throw the induvidual body make ups we've got, Lord it gets really complex. It all just takes time, and a continuation of keeping your diet on point and keeping your workouts in. Taking a day off, upping the carbs, and then getting right back on point the next day may help you a ton to help replenish glycogen stores, plus it'll initiate an insulin spike to help move proteins to repair muscles.

It's interesting that you post this, along with the replies. I am only two weeks out and was a bit frustrated that I only lost 2.4 lbs the second week. I was like, what!? 14 days out and only 6.4 lbs. That just seemed like so much less than the average.

BUT! My hubby reminded me of two things that made me feel better. 1st, I went on a fairly strict diet for almost a month before surgery, so there is a good chance my body had already started that process of adjusting to eating less, so I'm already slowing down. I mean, I have lost almost 30 lbs from my highest weight in less than 2 months.

Second, and this is key, that's 2.4 lbs that, unlike dieting before, I likely won't ever have to worry about seeing again! This is for life and the long term.

    Angie,

Most sleevers stall around this time and won't lose at all for 1-3 weeks. But once the weight starts coming of again it will be at a pretty fair pace. I Was on a strict low cal (800-1000 cals) low carb, small portion diet for 8 weeks prior to surgery.... where I lost 30lbs. I stalled at day nine for 14 straight days. You definitely have nothing to worry about. My weight came off at record pace even with over 10 stalls. Hang in there ladies, the weight-loss is coming

Thanks all and Angela since your at your goal in a bit over 8 mo. We need to follow all your advice. I won't lie and at first maybe first 3 mo I was lazy and hardly working out and just thought maybe now weight will come off so I rest yesterday. I went to the dr today(my primary) he hadn't seen me since last April when he gave me The referral for my surgery of course I was nearly 100lbs over. The nurse open her eyes wide open and said oh my goodness you've lost 90 pounds I was at 275 last time I went. Well since surgery it's been 56lbs. So I should be proud of myself for being so close to 100lbs lost!!

Pre-op weight: 255(9/3/12) lost 25lbs on my own
