I haven't officially posted my "story" of my sleeve yet, but I have some concerns that it sounds like this group is pretty knowledgeable about.
Note*****TLDR: My stomach hurts all the time after stent placement for twisting from my original procedure. What to do? Any advice/similar experience?***** I'm pretty wordy.
I got my sleeve done 12/12/11 in Illinois by Dr. Naresh Ahuja. The procedure seemed to go fine, but I couldn't keep anything down. In fact, I would get this white frothy foam that would just keep coming up on its own accord... without any heaving at all.
So, the Dr. said we will go back in with a scope and check it out. Turns out that my stomach had twisted, and there was a rather large blood clot along the staple line, so the next day they scheduled a stent placement. (hehe, during which I aspirated when ending the procedure, and now I have pneumonia.... I can't wait to bitch about my whole story later to an audience who will understand better than the one that I currently entertain).
Soooooo since this, I don't believe that my stomach has felt like any of the literature said a sleeve gastrectomy of should feel like. I can't figure out why it always hurts, or what it is trying to say.
The support groups I have been to, and my information post op is saying you eat (or in my case drink since I am still in liquid stage), you do so slowly and one bite/sip at a time until you feel full. Feeling overfull will be like a sharp pain in your chest/uncomfortable etc.
Well, mine always feels uncomfortable and painful, particularly in my chest. Especially when I am sitting or lying down. I have been carefully measuring about two ounces of liquid per hour because I have no clue as to what full feels like, because I am not sure that I know what comfortable feels like.
Anyone who had a stent know what I'm talking about, or can tell me about their stent placemen/events leading up to it etc?
I can not get comfortable in bed, and particularly at night my stomach just.... hurts. All the time.
I am scheduled to have the stent removed in about three weeks, and I am just hoping that after that happens this will be like a "normal" sleeve experience. I'm also afraid though because this has been one complication after another!!!!
Halp!
TLDR: My stomach hurts all the time after stent placement for twisting from my original procedure. What to do? Any advice/similar experience?
