Lap Band revised to Gastric Sleeve

Hello everyone!
My name is Lisa and I'm scheduled for a Band to Sleeve revision on 12/14/11 with Dr. Almanza in TJ. I'm overflowing with emotions and am so excited! I had the band placed back in 2006 when I was 19. I initially had good results, but always dealt with discomfort, food getting stuck, and frequent vomiting which isn't fun at all. I'm going into this surgery praying that my band hasn't damaged my stomach, coroded, or slipped so that they can perform the gastric sleeve at the same time; waking up from anesthesia and being told they couldn't proceed with surgery would be devastating for me! So here's to losing this weight once and for all & for a healthy lifestyle!

If anyone has had this revision surgery done any advice or comments would be wonderful!

I had my band out about 6 months ago . It never sat right and I lost 165 lbs in about a year. I was sick and sooooo tired. It finally slipped and I had a complete obstruction for 3 day before I got really sick and ended up in the E.R. The rushed me via ambulance to the nearest Kaiser that had a bariatric surgery center and removed my band at 1am. They offered to sleeve me then but, the irritation was to much and we decided to go o-natural. Now I have gained back 50 lbs and am considering getting the sleeve but, not sure if my insurance will cover it. I was cash pay originally and hope you have some incite on how to go about it. I have Kaiser but, open enrollment is next month and I can change my coverage.
How did the revision go and what was the recovery time?
