Warning if you are squeamish don't continue! I have had a bad back for most of my adult life. Doctors have said that a breast reduction would help with the back pain. At my support group last year we had two plastic surgeons come in and talk. One is about half an hour away the other less than ten minutes. They both said that BCBS would make you go through hoops to get them to pay for reduction surgery. So at the first of the year we switched to United Health Care. The further away surgeon operates in a hospital, you stay overnight, and he puts drainage tubes that have to be pulled out a week later. The closer surgeon has a fully equipped OR in his office. You go in for surgery and are released that evening to go home. After researching both Doctors I choose the closer one. Mostly because I hate hospitals and didn't want a tube. Went in on the sixth of January. The office called me on the twelfth and said the insurance approved my reduction/lift. This is we're vanity hits. I have noticed that as my weight has come off the bags under my eyes have become HUGE. I figured since I was going under anyway might as well do my eyes. I really only wanted my lower e eyelids done but the plastic surgeon said I wouldn't be happy without the uppers too. I went in Wednesday at 11:30 and was home by 5:30. I went in on Thursday and the surgeon said he usually takes about two to two and a half pounds of breast tissue. He took almost four pounds off mine. My back felt better almost admittedly. The vanity biting me is my eyes. The breast aren't bothering me very much. Just feels like I got punched in the sternum. My eyes are killing me. They itch, they water and they ointment makes my vision blurry. I should have just had the breast reduction. I am over fifty and married for twenty-five years. He could care less what my eyes look like. He loved me when I was 295 and he loves my at 189.
