Stinky Breath

Well tonight we were shopping at Target and my DH so politely asked me if I've had a BM lately. I asked why and he very embarrassedly told me my breath smelled stinky. I was horrified at this, as its thankfully, not something I regularly suffer from.

So I rushed home to google bad breath and gastric surgery and everything points to ketosis!

So I guess it's time to invest in loads of sugar free mints, peppermint spray etc. as everything I read says it can last a few weeks to a few months.

The only good side, I guess, is that it means my body is using the fat for energy and hopefully my losing streak continues for a good run.

Anybody else suffering from this? I hope I'm not the only one?

I suffered from bad breath while i was on the liquid part of the diet, once i went onto solid food it went away.

I woke myself up the other night with bad breath! uughh! I brushed my teethe. At first for the life of me I couldn't figure out what it was as I realized it had to be coming from my recovering stomach! so I went back to sleep and woke up with it again! I must of been burning! lol

OMG. I am so relieved to hear this. My hubby told me the same thing about my breath. I brush and use mouthwash a couple of times a day and it just comes back. I'm only 2 1/2 weeks post op, so I can sit at home with stinky breathe, but I'm worried about what I will do when I go back to work in a week or so. I'm still on a full liquid diet so I hope it will get better.

Thanks for the heads up warning of what I have to look forward too! Time to Invest in stock in Scope Mouthwash! Lol
