Hi, I got mypassport in less than 3 weeks. You need to go to your recorders office at the courthouse, they had onelady that is what she specialized in.

Needed to fill out an application. Which included mom and dads birthdate, maiden names etc. The cost was 100.00, plus 35.00 admin fee and you also need to send in a stamped certified copy of your birth certificate. (It gets sent back to you) . Also you will need a passport picture. They took them at the courthouse for 14.00, or go to walgreens for 9.00. Go tomorrow to get this done. You can also pay extra for expedited service. Ours was sent out Sept. 26 and we just got it Oct. 13th. 17 days. Not bad. Good luck I go to Dr. Almanza the 8th. The pass card is only for flying in to a country. Need a book if you are driving. Hope this helps.

    Summary:
    passport cost:135.00
    certirfied copy of birthcert. 26.00
    passportphoto-9.00

You actually have that backwards. You need a passcard for driving over the border and a passport for flying.

You only need the passcard to drive over the border. I applied for a passcard at my post office and received it in 10 days and that's WITHOUT paying the additional fee to expedite it. Take your birth certificate with you to MX though just in case you lose your passcard. It's the only way you will get back in.

When I was down to see Dr Alvarez last week the husband of my 'sleeve sister' had applied for his passport but it hadn't arrived yet. He used the receipt from the passport and the Mexican/US borders were no problem, so even if they don't arrive on time you should be okay with the receipt and a valid ID. Your driver, Rosy knows alot of the border guards and she collected the passports & his birth certificate copy/driver's license & Passport receipt and they let us go through no problems. They did do a bag check at the Mexican border and when we went back into the US it was just a quick pass through.
If I can suggest it, why don't you send a quick email to Susan or Dr Alvarez and confirm if their border crossing is fussy about the passport vs passcard? No one in our group had a passcard, so I have no idea if that is acceptable there.

Passcard or enhanched drivers license is same as a passport when walking driving or sailing across borders in Mexico , canada ect.... I was told to bring my birth certificate just for safe keeping...

You can get a passport done at your post office as long as you have your birth certificate and ID
